Chat log added. I hope to be on tomorrow, but it's my brother's best friend's birthday, so I might be attending that. Depends on the time and everything.

How was session?
Got some RPing in, and combat was definitely made more interesting with the addition of a mage and more varied enemy types. Moar please. :3

Things to fix?
Nothing to add here. ^^^

Thoughts on corridor of traps?
Well, there should be traps. It would hardly be a dungeon without one! Plus it gives Tali a chance to shine. ^^^

I'd be happy to show up tomorrow, but I have to attend Shoruke's campaign, and get some homework done. My character sheet is done. Now there is a small matter of things to be approved...

Spirit Detective Class (Homebrew)
Crossbow Sniper (PHB2, p.77)

Wait... That's it!? Less than I expected. The rest is from either the DMG, or the PHB.

Hey, Fool. Would you mind taking a look at this character and telling me if he's broken or not? If not, perhaps suggest what I should buy for his weaponry?

EDIT: Just noticed, while looking over him myself, that he didn't have to be evil...

That is a incredibly strange class Fool.

@SeriousConcentrate: There is absolutely nothing broken about that character. In fact I might suggest picking up some strength boosting items.

@Criptfeind: I know it's a very strange class with very specialized features, but I play D&D a lot and I think I want to try something weird. I've never played a RP-centered class or a trapmaster, so now I can try both. The cat in the suit makes it even better. :P

Spirit Detective class seems to be based on the anime Mushishi, especially since the picture is a fan-art from said anime.

I like it, but I think the sutra need some more carrying capability :P Maybe a feat?

Ah, good. I was worried about the armor, mostly. ^^^; I still need to pick a mount and grab those strength boosting items, maybe boost my axe up a bit. Thanks for reviewing, Fool. :D

The armor isn't that big an issue if you're tanking, you just don't want to thoroughly  wipe the floor with your enemies. That would be a problem for balance.

Oh, and since I forgot it in my last two posts here's my character sheet. I wouldn't mind a feat to increase carrying capacity, any suggestions?

I also wouldn't mind a feat that allowed me an extra minute of See the Ethereal, and Touch the Ethereal. One without the other seems redundant, but it grants bonuses to those who specialize.

Phew, might as well create a big houserule for Spirit Detectives.

Choose which ones sound reasonable.

- Swap 'Help of a Secretary' for 'Hasty Calligraphy'. Take two full rounds and a DC equal to 10+(spell level) against Dex or Int. On success, the user creates a sutra on the spot. Some kind of disadvantage needed.

- Sutra of Disintegration : no fatigue.

- (Feat) Sutra Carrying Capabilities : Each time you gain this feat, increase two types of sutra's carrying capacity by 2 (excluding Disintegration) OR increase Disintegration by 1 (provided that you already have Etheral Calligraphy).

Second change seems to be needed.
First, not so ...
Third, perhaps change to a flat +1 across all sutra?

You might want to change Sutra of Disintegration or the class so it does damage as well.

I like my cat-in-a-suit secretary. She helps during negotiations by giving me insights into what the other person is thinking. Seriously though it's the best out-of-combat feature that Spirit Detective has. Not only that, but there are craft checks dedicated to creating sutras. They also don't have spell levels. While I wouldn't mind quick calligraphy refills after battle I wouldn't want to risk it during a fight, especially if I do an especially difficult to create sutra.

On another note my character has a ring of sustenance, which lets him go without food and water, and shortens his sleep cycle to 2 hours. I would have 6 hours to write up some new sutras while people sleep. It should be enough time to make sutras since sutras are just paper and ink, and therefore would have a short crafting time.

- Sutra of Disintegration : no fatigue.
It does a solid 240 damage. That can kill some CR 20 creatures in one hit, or take half of most dragons HP in one hit. Something to slow me down after making it is nothing in comparison to the damage. I wouldn't mind this change, but remember that the sutra is broken if you can make it quickly without anything to slow you down.

I like being able to increase the sutra carrying capacity by 2 for two types of sutras. Increasing Disintegration is a dangerous game to play with balance. It would become the insta-win button. A Wyrm (second hardest) Red Dragon don't have more than 480 HP on average.

There is always the option of moving Dual Characters up to an earlier level, because level 12 already has a lot going for it without it. It would double my capacity earlier, meaning that I could use a fair number of Sutras of Destruction before I run out in a big dungeon.

I don't mind not being a heavy damage dealer. This class is kind of my vacation from powergaming. I've never played a roleplaying based class, or a trapmaster before and this looks like fun to me, even if I'm shadowed by rogues and barbarians in combat.

My Black Knight is completed, excluding RP fluff. I even got macros for him (and found out a fancy new way to show rolls; if I can edit Rae's out of MapTools, I'll update hers to the same).

On another note, Fool was right: Shoruke quickly disabused my notion of Rae being overpowered. ^^^; I need to buy her a belt of Hill Giant strength and Gauntlets of Ogre Power ASAP.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Spirit Detective in play, too. :3

I can imagine it now. Luke hopping through a wall he just disintegrated with a telepathic cat in a suit, and the only thing he's carrying is 90 rounds of ammunition. Who needs a backpack when you have crossbow bolts lining your pockets?

Alright... now my character sounds like he's from the internet and he's here to help. I'll try and write something a bit more sane for my character before the next session.

Yeah, I'll look forward to the interaction between the Spirit Shaman and the Spirit Detective. :P

@Skyrunner: Ahh, you got Saturday for me. I can show up today!

For everyone that was wondering about Marches...

Yeah, I'll set the game for Sunday this week instead of Saturday. (which technically makes it next week, but that's just me being too specific for my own good).
