I'm taking the dimmest possible view of the encounter. Best case, the Beholder leaves the anti-magic cone on to prevent us from doing anything magical (but also canceling out his rays), and the rogues sneak attack him to death in a few rounds while raging Rae forces him to fight her because she's in his face with a greatsword. :3

A. Alith perusuades the beholder to not attack us and go attack a convienetly placed lammasu.
B. What SC said.
C. Wheatly, the team cleric, kamikazes the beholder, distracting it while letting the entire party wipe him out.
D. Run and hide like pathetic (DF) elves.

Hmm. How much is that in feet? I suck at math. Uh, hmm. 135 times 135 right? So... 18,225 squares x5 for each being 5 feet... That room is 91,125 feet across. o.o A mile is 5280... so this room has a total area of like 17 miles.

We're fighting something gigantic, aren't we? :C

I was sure each square was 5 feet, though. ??? Ah well. Anyway. I'm gonna go back to looking at these tables and fantasizing about Rae having +20/+20/+15/+10/+5 (five attacks) with Flurry of Blows each round. :3

Erm... wait, if Damage Resistance is 20/+2 ... does it mean it gets -20 on damage and +2 on AC?

It means it resists up to 20 damage points UNLESS it's hit by a weapon of +2 quality or greater, I believe. (Not certain, Dwarmin or Fool might know better.) For example, Rae's Damage Reduction is 2/-, which means she always ignores the first two points of damage from each attack. Good for me, I got a +3 weapon. :3

EDIT: Also, man, this wiki has some great feats. Too many good ones to choose from, really...

Huh... that's rather crazy :3

Also, is everyone OK with starting 1 hour earlier, at 5 pm EST on Friday?

I wouldn't mind. That is a painful damage reduction. I hope it doesn't have massive pools of HP.

Damage reduction works like this:

Damage Reduction [# of points deducted from damage]/[What overcomes the DR]

So 20/+2 would be 20 points reduced damage per hit, with a +2 or greater weapon needed to overcome. If you have a +1 Flaming Greatsword you would still have to deal with the damage reduction, even if it is effectively a +2 weapon. If needs to be +2 before you account for effects. +2 Shocking Greatsword would bypass the DR.

Erm.. does 128 HP count as a big pool?

(looks hopeful)

Maybe I should nerf it.

I have to stop reading this wiki, for real, it's worse than TV Tropes. :-\ I got like nineteen tabs of homebrew base classes open, and I'm like "Large-Sized Pugilist Lv1 multiclassing into Monk sounds arrsum :3." Anyway, OT, maybe a slight bit of nerfing for everyone else? I can handle it, but I don't think anyone else has a +2 or more weapon, so they would only be able to hurt it on a sneak attack, and even then not by much.

Do you guys have space for another player? The Fool was saying you guys could use a (non-GM-run) divine caster?
