Heh... I've been kicking around the idea of making a Factotum myself, and combining it with a ranged specialist that I wanted to make as well. I technically even have a perfect character to go with this: Toman's youngest brother, who in his journal he acknowledged as intelligent (technically he said he had good enough grades to become a wizard, and this was after he'd met Rudra so he obviously thinks of wizarding as taking a ton of brainpower). I might change his name since the original was a bit of an obscure joke, but I think it could work. However... I'd like for Sky to approve a few feats. I don't necessarily need all of them, so I'll just put a mark by the ones I really want.

Spoiler: Bow Sniper (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Dead-Eye (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: *Opportunity Shot (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: *Gigantic Weapon (click to show/hide)

The other things I'm thinking about using are either base (such as equipment) or stuff that's already been approved, so that shouldn't be a problem. ^^^ I'll search the thread for starting XP and GP myself.

Weird, I thought you threatened even with ranged weapons, but you dealt damage like you were punching the enemy. o_o

Dead-Eye is a bit overkill, to me.

The other ones look fine-ish. Though I'd worry about Opportune Shot/Combat reflexes letting SC kill everything that moves.

Only griping because I made Bael as strictly by-the-book as I could make him, so he'll suck compared to Sc's char with these custom feats. Not that two archers would hurt!

Also, if SC makes a fourth char...So will I! :3

Just thought I should drop of the sheet for my backup here.

I made some changes to it, mainly changing my 5th level from bard to a duskblade, so I don't have to completly waste that level. Anyway, the reason I asked so often about this backup was because technically I can't get into Eldritch Disciple with an Ur-Priest by RAW. I need to worship an evil or chaotic deity for it and Ur-Priest don't worship gods. Still, i don't think the build is all that powerfull. The only thing I get over a straight warlock is a few cleric spells and a few extra abilities a non-Urpriest Eldritch Disciple would have gotten anyway. Can I get a DM handwave for that requirement?

@Dwarmin: I thought that might be the case, which is why I didn't asterix that one. On the other hand, archery seems somewhat weak at the same time, especially without skirmish or sneak attack. And sure, if you want. Although I think I might just make Toman even more miserable by having Anya take an interest in his brother. It's fun making the black knight brood. :D

@Theobodi

Well ...
... nope. >.>

That's not only RAW but RAI ... and also fluff-wise. Still, if there is absolutely no other way to do so, I'd reluctantly let you do that :P TBH, I don't really know much about Ur-Priests or warlocks or ... stuff.

Well the concept I was going for was pretty much a multiclass Ur-Priest/Warlock. I really like that combination, fluff-wise. And Eldritch Disciple is for some reason the only Theurge class for Invocations and Divine casting. :-\

I could simply make a normal warlock instead, but I think Ur-priest and Warlock just fit unbelieveably well together, and Eldritch Disciple is sadly the only way to make this work.

Well, Bael can average about 15-20+ (+25% on that if I get a favored enemy/use berserk) damage a bow shot, and he can make five shots in a full attack/haste. I'd say that's not too bad. Not crazy, but I'm not getting up into anyones face, either.

And yeah, anything with Skirmish tends to outdo my standing damage.

You know, if we look at it *that* way, dead eye feat and full attack isn't so bad when compared to skirmishing style...heh.

@Sky: I actually read up on Ur-Priests, lore wise. There' sort of like the anti-Clerics. Instead of praying to Gods and receiving their divine spells, they pretty much learn to thieve divine power from Gods without any of them realizing it. I was thinking it would fun if the Gods found out. :3

Using a program and adding in +6 damage (+1 base enchantment for bow, +5 for collision if I choose to shell out the additional 18k for it) this guy would average about 27 damage a shot based on the equipment I plan to get him. With Dead-Eye it's 40 per shot average. Considering Anya can average 36 (EDIT: no miss chance + ignores DR, has a good chance to pass SR, can go through Shield, and is Force-based so can hit/hurt Incorporeal beings with no trouble and bypasses pretty much all Energy Resistance - and even if it didn't, a class feature of FMM allows her to change it to any energy type when she casts it, so that's a practically guaranteed amount of damage) on Magic Missile (with no metamagic) - a level 1 spell - that doesn't seem too bad... but on the other hand, he can crit and she can't, so taking into account sometimes he would get a x3 critical... but on the other hand, we seem to face a lot of crit-immune enemies... hmm...

So... if I add Bow Sniper into that it becomes average of 45, but without Dead-Eye it's an average of 32. As a level 13 Factotum he would have two attacks per round. Toman has three and deals an average of 25 per hit, with an x4 crit and a 19/20 crit range. Rae has upwards of six attacks a round and deals 17, with 2x crit on 17/20. So assuming all attacks hit, he would deal 54 or 64 (depending on Bow Sniper) vs Toman's 75 and Rae's 102 (if she has no haste left, then she would deal 85). I guess I would have to drop (Bow Sniper or Collision, one or the other) and Dead-Eye since when he gets three attacks he would then be dealing 96 damage per round, which is more than both of them, and with Dead-Eye too that would be like 135 per round. (EDIT: I forgot about Rapid Shot, which he'll have. >.> So he already has three attacks per round...)

So, OK. Dropping Bow Sniper and Dead-Eye. Are the others OK?

ALSO EDIT: Stats for Flowing Hammer? It may be better than his current DW, which means I might need to redo his averages for the sake of this comparison. :P

Now, for my extra Char..

Playing around with developing Halfling Monk lately. :3

Really trying to make that one work.

@Sc: This is just for reference, if I ever need you to make her pog, I filled in the questions you set earlier for Theo.

Okay, if I can't have an Ur-Priest, I'll use this guy instead. This one's mostly focused on summoning Swarms of Locust and then firing away with his Eldritch Blast. Until he gets Dark Invocations, then he will also become a swarm and eat his enemies alive.  :D

@Dwarm: Sure, I'll see about it if you need me to. Still working on this Factotum, trying to get his equipment squared up. ^^^

Now I just need a name and a pog. Then I have to make a whole bunch of macros. :\

One thing to be cautious about : the fact is that the more characters you split your wealth amongst, the further you fall behind in your WBL.

Also, Theo, you *could* take the Ur-Priest if you really want it. The explanation that Ur-Priests steal divine magic from gods actually could work, if he steals from the Good gods and worships the Evil ones :P
