Trust me Dwarm, you only missed us getting our asses handed to us and Toman pinning a dragon after it grappled him. :D

Both V and N died and came back as ghost-wizards. We nearly died again after that.

You know... I'm surprised that Rudra isn't diving for Neciel's spellbook (which now has some spells! Only some blanks left). I'm sure that he doesn't have any divination spells yet, and she has tons. Actually I don't think I've seen Shoruke on this thread even... Huh. Oh well.

On another note. Are you sure about the permanent +2 LA on Neciel? Beyond Terrible Secret I don't really have any spells that I would use to damage an enemy. Disintegrate is not my favorite because of the failure effect which seems to come into play a lot (I'd drop it from my spellbook in a heartbeat). It might be an odd move for a powergamer, but I actually want to see what a divination specialist can do, even if the results are sub-par.

EDIT: I have an idea. Could Neciel have 2 levels in Outsider if you don't want the level adjustment to go away? It would give 2d8+8 hp, the level 12 ability point, and tons of skill points, but it wouldn't affect her spellcasting at all.

Operating on the assumption that they're basically Schrödinger's Petals, and are both playable and not a PC race until the DM says one thing or the other, I created a trio of petals in the form of the first, second, and third classic archetypes of RPGs.

Firstly, I can't open the sheets. Are they private?

Second, Schrödinger's cat *could* be seen as flawed, because the Geiger counter could be argued to be an observer, and decides whether the cat is dead or alive :P

Ah, I seem to have privated the first two. Or maybe it was all of them. I'm not entirely sure on that point.

Araph equips the Cloak of Bullshitting! His bullshitting skill has received a +10 modifier!

But how do we classify an 'observer'? Could we not say the bacteria around the cat are observers? Might some supernatural force be observing the cat? Is the cat observing itself? After all, it certainly knows when it's dieing, and the mere lack of knowing it's existing after its death could be argued to be an assertion of its inner nonexistence. As for the Geiger counter, a simple test could prove whether or not it counts as an observer. Put it in front of a mirror; does it recognize self from nonself? If it does, you've just discovered Skynet or something, born from radiation and Hollywood Science. In that case, what are you doing arguing about cats? Get ye to thine robot-proof bunker! :P

Scientific observer: Either a person or an object that information is given to and can be retrieved from. Instruments are definitely observers.

Regardless of whether the cat is being observed, the point is that its state of being alive or dead is not being communicated to us. Therefore, to us, it can be said to be both alive and dead.

Also, what is this about Neciel's spellbook? She's a wizard now?

Yep. Neciel is a wizard. I hope you like Divination, because she has a lot of it. I think I might just fill the rest of my blank spells with some of the more useless divination spells.

Seriously though Detect Undead is fairly useless. If you are within 60 feet of an undead they will most likely find you before you find them with the spell.

EDIT: Or I can troll Rudra by having a lot of teleportation spells that he can't use. I think that would be better than wasting pages on useless spells.

The only use I can think of it is to see whether or not someone's a vampire. Of course, you have to be within sixty feet, and unless it's Still/Silent they'll probably notice you casting it and attack you when you do, so it's kind of redundant. Would it allow you to find/more easily target invisible undead like ghosts?

...Does seem a bit worthless. :\

@Edit: XD Teleportation spells could be useful, too.

*whistle*

Tomorrow's session is happily mostly planned out.
A heavy dash of talking, an' some fighting shall be on the menu.

Detect Undead can be used if you're facing a disguised undead! Or check if that epic lich in front of you really is real!

Uh... Yeah, it's pretty usel- Another use is not being ambushed. If the undead finds you first and fires off a fireball, y'all are basically FF for your Reflex saves.
