You take a walk around the ship. Currently your ship can support [5] 5 more people, though it only needs [4] 2 to operate. Your first mate is currently [5] on leave. The armory room reveals that you [1] have a single turret mounted on the front of the ship, neither very strong nor fast. The ammo bins look undisturbed from when you last saw them. [4] You should have enough ammo for a while. [4] Walking to a console you check your defensive capabilities. You have moderate armor and a weak shield generator, both seem fine. You remember the flashing screen, walking to it you glance out the window and see the spaceport of St. Claravel, its little more than a backwater town but the Radath system has always treated you nice. Checking the console you notice a  new message.
The message reads [1]:

Dear sirr, I am the king of the radathian star system of the rradathians. I need your help to move a sub of ttwenty three million CREDITS (23000,000,) to a bank account on your planet. Off cours for this service you will recceve a payment of

Suddenly, an ad for a mercenary mission finder pops up, how convenient.

-A citizen is being hassled by a gang. They need someone to deal with the problem. (Reply)
-An anonymous company needs you to break into a rival building and steal some files. (Reply)
-The third offer is strange, it reads:

Welcome, bold contestant! My name is Herbert. This offer is not like the others, I have set it up so that it is offered to every new mercenary on this site. Basically, you need to retrieve an artifact from a planet. Unfortunately the planet is dead-set against this. I will be paying $50,000 on the completeion of this mission, first come first serve. If you want to win, you need to beat the other mercenaries.

CELIA: Yeah, yeah, you're just scared to have a little fun! Come on, the test is in four hours. What say we sneak out and get a little practice in first, right?
ELSIE: Sneak out? Are you talking about leaving the city borders? Out with the monsters!?
CELIA: Oh, come on, Elise! They're just plants and wolves. No one's been killed sneaking out in over a year!
ELSIE: I don't know...
CELIA: Hee-hee, are you secretly a poor mage? Not so sure about yourself after all?

Her words are grating. Under her trouble-making, care-free demeanor, she's actually one of the school's top students - and considering she's studying to be a Green Mage, that's saying something. On one hand, you could get suspended. On the other, you don't want her to show you up.

You send a message back to the people that posted the offers. The corporation's mission is on the next planet over, about an hour away. Unfortunately the "Competition" is a solar system away, about a weeks travel. Luckily, the Concerned Citizens mission is on St. Claravel, only a few hundred miles away. You try an find some more info about the gang, but the client only knows that the attacked his shop with automatic weapons and a grenade. He just wants them to stop attacking his store, but he can't pay them off. Finally, you try and check the local competition. [6] It looks to be mostly under-equipped amateurs, but there could be a few to watch out for. You log off and suddenly remember to check your personal armament. Heading to your quarters you open your dresser and check on your weapons.

Of course, she speaks way too loudly all the time, even when she's telling you to be quiet. You facepalm. "Urgh... we may have to take the back exit to the east. Otherwise, the guards in front will be suspicious."
