I was just wondering if anyone knew how to make the squares actually square, instead of being longer n/s than they are e/w. It's not a major issue, it's just a little irritating for aesthetics purposes.

just grab a square tileset from the wiki. the default one is not square.

I prefer the default Ascii. Is there no way to change the tileset to be square, yet sharp?

Correct.  There is no way.
But there is a plain ASCII 16x16 square yet sharp tileset, made by Marble Dice.
And it's on that very page.
