I've seen slade towers like this before, but usually it's not slade and adamantine...

Get about one frame every few seconds. Parts of it are collapsing, water is draining down, lots of magma at the bottom... the floating eerie pits are slowly disappearing. Map has 23k adamantine in total, that's a lot more than the standard ~2,000...

I tried collapsing the tower of adamantine, DF crashed. It's ~600 or so levels tall, so that's not surprising. Slade towers go up for 934 levels.

If I got a playable framerate I'd make a fort on it, but I'm pretty sure my dwarves would die instantly to all the spirit of fires.

Wow.. this has ASCIt written all over it!  He's currently performing experiments on slade material items.

If you savescummed before embark, you could adjust the embark site to only cover a portion of the tower ?

Also holy shit I want the save. I think if you dfliquids away all the water and magma that might help the framerate a bit.

Abandon, find and save the location, get the seed and share. I might be able to run this embark; recently kitted out my computer, I can run full-sized forts at 70 FPS.

Abandon, find and save the location, get the seed and share.
The seed won't do you any good - this world was corrupted during worldgen, so if you try to generate it again you will get a perfectly ordinary world.

Ran at 1 FPS. Managed to DFliquid some obsidian walls below ground level, then DFunreveal to hide everything below that. I think that stopped calculating all the water and magma flow. Got that up to 10 FPS. Also, save corrupts when you try and exit.

Very odd, yes.

Don't they collect buggy saves like this so the mistakes can be corrected in later versions?

But wow. Slade and adamantine. Makes me wish that kind of thing happened regularly, and created stable saves you could actually play around with.

I've had this happen before, where blocks of the HFS tower over my caravan. Also, OP, could you please de-spoiler the title? We don't want to ruin someone's Fun, now do we?  ;D

I can see the ending...

1) turn off cave-ins
2) build a floor around that nasty hole and make the slade tower unstable
3) turn cave-ins back on
4) ???
5) profit!

This reminds me of a similar spire from about a year and a half ago we knew as "armok's finger".
