No missiles! I veto anything about doing missiles ourselves. Missiles are mean and they tend to eat your puppies. You wouldn't like to have your puppy eaten, would you?
I'd say expand our shipyard capability. A medium-term objective should be to be able to build a strike carrier and its whole squadron in one go.
We should also start expanding the carrier yards to produce larger, meaner Fleet Carriers.
Also, Alpha Centauri should become a manufacturing ground as well, not just a source of income.
Oh, we can already do that.
Bigger shipyards is a good idea, and relates to something I've been thinking about. A major obstacle for larger ships in a normal game is the geometrically increasing costs of large jump drives, but that doesn't really count with me SMing components. Instead I'm thinking about having a limit of 10,000 RP for a jump drive, and just have anything bigger than that be "technically impossible". This would set a cap based on the current level of jump drive efficiency (For the UHF this would be 15,000 tons; the next level would be about a years worth of research and make it 18,000; then two years for 24,000).
This would only apply to jump drives; we could still build enormous dreadnoughts that were simply limited to the jump gate network.
Will you terraform planets to the minimum standard or will you RP it and terraform to earth standard?
Ideally, I'd like to terraform everything to Earth standard (I usually do it in my games; in addition to flavor it also makes them invulnerable to beam weapons). In this particular case I rationalized it as both planets have millions of inhabitants, and Mars is at least moderately habitable now whereas Hope isn't.
