A New Community Fort!
« on: January 25, 2012, 03:05:35 pm »

Hey guys! Since the last community fort I ran had to be abandoned, I decided to make a new one. I have a bunch of ideas, though, so I want to see what people want!

Pick your favorite fort concept from above, and in about a week, I'll start playing it. If you want to be one of the Original Seven, ask here and ye shall receive!

McDonald's. Make a large pair of golden arches over a large red-roofed building, containing the trade depot, dining rooms, food stockpiles, and as much of the food industry as you can. Most of the fort should live in buildings built aboveground, or their unconnected basements. A separate building leads into the mines, and possibly another building would lead to a path to the caverns. Walls are to be minimal, and bridges used as removable walls should not be used. The basic idea is to have a fortress that works as a restaurant for the world.

Edit: I'll take Urist McDonald, a cook/butcher/possibly other farming jobs who likes ducks and will not slaughter any kind of bird. (Eggs are perfectly O.K.)

You may not have noticed, but my username is Urist McDonald! I'll still dwarf you as such, though.

Oh no, a three-way tie! Who will win?!

Sharks! Frickin laser beams optional.

Lunaire, brewer and/or cook. Artistic and melodramatically depressed, if possible.

Dorf me as one of the starting seven. Manager or bookkeeper(rather that than manager) if you make one of those  in the starting ones, otherwise the broker.

Evil Layer is leading the vote! Will my next fort house mustache-twirling dwarves?

I just realized that if I combine Volcano and Evil Lair, I would have enough votes to make a decision. So, Evil Lair on a Beachside Volcano it is!

So, here's the thing: I found two nice sites for a seaside volcano. Both have problems, however.

One is on an island, which means no ambushes or traders. Which means much less !!FUN!!.

The other is on a peninsula with Orcs, Goblins, Dark Elves, Normal Elves, and Human neighbors. But, it's on a lake, not an ocean... Which means no sharks.

What do you guys say?
