Should I be afraid, or laughing?
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:37:03 am »

I just met my second forgotten beast, the first was made of fire.
It died without complications

now I have a forgotten beast, "Osel" it has a deadly dust, and I have no clue what that could do. square shell, and is another blob.

But instead of fire, it's vomit.

So... What should I do about it? I'm afraid of what the dust could do to my pretty good military. But at the same time... It's made of vomit so I can't take it seriously.

You should throw ALL your military at it. Maybe even some of your civilians, just for good measure. And then you should watch - and learn.

You can thank me later.

hmm, instead I'll just let it run into my guard dogs for the cavern and get torn apart, and afterwards watch the dog's face melt.

If it's vomit, it'll die as easy as the one made out of fire.

It does, it's just that Dwarf logic dictates that "what you don't know can't hurt you" meaning that as long as they don't realize something is impossible, dwarves can do anything.

Aw you didn't listen to my advice! ...Probably a good thing though - i believe "deadly dust" is bugged right now, it currently follows some obviously tantalising code from cave-ins, and instead of just blowing some annoying dust in the face of your dwarves, is basically garunteed to fling anything it comes into contact with 50 feet away into a wall, or cause some kind of similiar devastation, which is of course always fun :)

Well, now I have some pretty much zombie, blind, numb, dizzy, completely relying on the hive mind- dwarves to tend to. Aren't forgotten beasts fun?

aw, you know, that is just the perfect Idea for a FB that sits in the entry hall of my fort. Keep it alive and occasionally show it to visiting tree-loving pointy ears

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.
