Alright, time to make some abominations of the underworld become pets of the surface. I'll make sure to have fun and not abuse (WAR TROGGIES!!!) this ability.

Wait, another question, I added the tag
[PET]
[TRAINABLE]

To several things, but I'm not even able to domesticate them, did I do anything wrong?

Did they kill any dwarves? Once a creature tastes dwarf blood, by internal mechanics of the game it can never be domesticated.

Nah, nothing to do with killing. The naked mole dogs couldn't even if they tried.

Did you make the changes to the default raw files, or to the raw files in the region folder for your saved game?  Every region folder has its own copy of the raws, and to make a change to an existing game you need to edit those instead of the default raws.

naked mole dogs can be modded to be tamable and trainable.  make sure you've taken [PET_EXOTIC] if it exists.  I'm not sure what kind of interaction it could cause if you leave it in along with [PET]... See if your kennels offers a "Tame large animal" job that lets you select from the naked mole dogs you have caged.

Coincidentally I just had my own fire forgotten beast show up.

Fortunately for me he arrived in the third cavern layer so I had plenty of time to get my archers in position.  Once he exited the "downward passage" between layers 2 & 3 he was pelted with bolts, split in half and died.  Of course he set fire to almost the entire third cavern layer on his way up ...

Now I have a dead fire FB that I want to do something !!Fun!! with.  If I chuck it into a pit and drop gobbos on it, will they catch fire?  Will my dorfs catch fire trying to drag it to the pit?  Time for some !!Science!! ...

It was the region file, now I shall train my abominations into war troglodytes and alligators to maul crap. On second thought, I should have given them the [CANLEARN] tag.

Fooey.  I have a dead fire forgotten beast corpse in my cat pit and all that's happening is the cats are fighting each other as expected.  No flaming cats of doom.  O well.

It killed a dog by melting its face, but then a marksdwarf shot it dead. (Yeah, it had some kind of firebreath) Now all that is left is Bax's flames, any idea of what to do with it? Any way to stuff this thing into a cool shrine?
