We've got wave of 20 migrants!

It was an ordinary day. Military was sparring, engravers was smoothing crypt halls where we'll sset our tombs... But suddenly - someone's shout:
- An ambush! Curse th.... - interrupted by cooper bolt at the throat.
Goblins. Archers with a swordsman. Then were shooting from the top of volcano at civilians running to the safeness of mountain halls.

I ordered everyone hide inside, and gathered military next to main entrance. We'll lure them closer and charge for glory!
Things went as I planned. Almost. Swordsman was the fisrt who entered the gate and we charged, and tore him at pieces. But the others stood still at the end of bridge and landed bolts at us, as we entered their line of sight. We had no choice but to charge at them along narrow bridge over lava, trying to dodge their bolts.

We rushed willd, and I was among the firsts... but the closer I was, the harder was trying to avoid their shots. I slipped and fell out of bridge, descending down the volcano tube. Last thing I remember was the blinding shine of adamantine vein...

I woke up. Tha must be a warning of some supernatural origin. I must take measures to avoid this.

Actually, I played a bit yesterday and almost immediately showed group of archers. I tried to lure them closer and attack, but I failed and had to attack them at the middle of bridge.
Everyone who was charging dodged their shots directly into lava, so we lost almost all named dwarves. So I decided to quit and replay. Hope tonight will be new update

28th Slate
I considered that vision as a warning, and did some preparations

First, two-dogs watchpost at the far entrance. Second, line of cage traps after them. Third, I ordered all non-militant nobles and hunters form archer squad, lead by Nix and accompanied by Wypie.

13th Felsite
Elven traders come. I trashed them heap of stone mugs and took delicious drinks, fruits, wood and cloth. They seemed ecstatic with that.

Among traders, theves tried to sneak in, but were noticed and ran away.

21st Felsite
An ambush came! Those goblins never give up, what they can't steal they try to take by force.
Unlike my dream there were spearmen and axemen only. We prepared to fight.



23rd Felsite
My plan worked good. Dogs delayed them a bit, then most of them got into cages. We had just one to finish, and Tobul decapiated him.
But then we spotted a thief. Marx ran to pursue him... that wasn't so good idea.


But it wasn't bad at all. We've captured five invaders, and I decided to make another initiation with them. But first we need a proper temple.

18th Hematite
Today, as was watching our great temple being carved from stone, some Commoner came and talked like she was in a hurry:
- Excuse me, since I was elected mayor, I need a proper room and office and tomb and...



I didn't belive my ears.
- You were what?!
- All dwarves down there decided that I should be their leader. And actally you, sir, have no rights to give orders since you aren't our official leader and so...



- Silence, scum! You are againist my rule? That means you are againist King Etur!
- No, I didn't...
- Silence I said! As the head of Tribunal you are to be send down to caverns. There was another exile, so you fit him best. If he's still alive. Guards! Take her down to caverns!
It's a rebellion! She was ELECTED, huh!!!
Guards accompanied her down to caverns, and last words I heard was - I need sword! Short sword!





19th Hematite
Nix went hunting down at caverns and got cut of the main fortress with crundle horde.
- Those species dare to stand between me and my home?! ARRG!!

She quikly ran out of bolts and had to go melee.



Things were quite dim, but luckily we were warned - someone heard Nix's raging cries.
We came just in time to same bleeding Nix from under the heap of bleeding crundles. No serious wound though, just a lot of bruises and scratches.

A vile force of darkness has arrived!




I ordered all our squads get to positions. We'll meet them fully prepared!

Some other news
- another miner reached legendary skill, thus becoming a noble
- Nix got well from injures and hunted cave crocodile at caverns
- our manager, Obok Helmpresent, made artifact stone toy hammer
- Temple has been dug out, it's to be smoothed and nesessary furniture installed.

1st Limestone
Siege was easily fought off. Some of goblins got into cages, then marksdwarves squad wounded their leader, and everyone retreated. Our losses - just two dogs at sentry

I think I some fucked up that idea of waxed leather... So screw it, metal armor is allowed. We have copper only anyway.

20th Limestone
Today our fortress was hit by disaster.


Looks like that crundle bites had their revenge... Rest in peace, Nix.


Also looks like some of dwarves have very.. well.. special feelings about Nix.

Ostri Swelterflame the Guilded Tax.

Ostri has destroyed the bridge, cutting the only way inside. I think we should capture him in a cage!


24th Sandstone
Our plan failed. Instead of crawling at the thin volcano edge Ostri decided to take a bath. And now it's swimming at magma and looks as happy as the dragon ever can be!


Other news, Avuz, Exiled "Mayor" was posessed by unknown forces, she claimed carpentry and demands logs(that are in abundance there) and gems. Should we give here some and take her back, as The Chosen Person?

13th Moonstone
The "Election" rebelion gave more saplings. Since Avuz failed to complete her artifact and fell into melancholy, Mosus Searingrazor arisen as new mayor, and demands same room, office and so on... Also, diplomat refuses to speak with any of us except said mayor, and we can't order anything. That's bad.

So, I think we should make use of mayor's position, say, by arranging Fighter Beast Initiation with one of captured prisoners. Since she  would be promoted to Nobles, she can get office and whatever.

I spoke with her, and she was gladly saticfied. As I thought, all this opposition talks againist us, Nobles, is nothing but envy and greediness. That's in our hearts!

Avuz managed to escape that beast, leaving mangled body of her friend and companion rot there. She returned back to dwarven community as a creator of artifact and mayor. But that artifact still has to be achieved...

Whoa, it was quite a show! First Id bit toad in the head, then made some hammer-bashes, then bit again... and finally finished it with kick in it's head! All hail Id Netfloor, Toad Biter!


We still need 3 more soldiers to fill the squad...
