23rd of Sandstone, 251: The Adventures of Nix ~By Nix
It's hard to believe that it's already Moonstone. A few weeks ago, I was still in the Mountainhomes, training to fight but doing nothing. And now, here I am, actually taking the fight to the enemy!
It all started back in 250, when I heard that guy, Domas, give his speech. I realized that he was right; we
were wasting underground while Evil took over the surface. But then he disappeared, and I never heard from him again.
Then, a few months after that, I was talking to my friends about him. And one of them informed me that Domas was, in fact, exiled! I was greatly disheartened to hear of our dear Dwarvenking acting in such a cowardly way. Then, a few weeks after THAT, I met a Dwarf who claimed to have come from a keep called Lashevil, where Domas went after his exile to fight Evil. I imminently found a group of loyal friends and together, we set off for Lashevil.

We made it here without trouble. Tomorrow, we'll be approaching the keep; I hope Dormas will accept my axearm into his ranks.
24th of Sandstone, 251: More Migrants! ~By Doram Nilegan
More migrants showed up today! It seems that while the Dwarvenking feared my message, many of the common Dwarves have taken it to heart.
Now that we have more working hands, I plan to stop doing so much of the physical work myself. Instead, the time has come to take stock of Lashevil's stores. Our metal industry is coming along nicely; soon I shall split my time between fighting and managing the fort.
Most of the new migrants are going to be joining the various industries, but their leader, Nix, has greatly impressed me. He's a good fighter, and quite eager for battle. I have ordered the production of armor and a battleaxe for him. He will be our first soldier.
I have not told him this yet, for I wish it to be a surprise, but we have discovered a source of Mithril in the mountain. I ordered his battleaxe to be made of this near-mythical metal.
1st of Moonstone, 251: BadgerslayerFinally, I have brought Dwarven steel (Or Mithril, in this case) to the enemy!
Ah, I'm too excited. Let me start from the beginning. The founder of this fort, Doram, was most eager to accept my offer as an axedwarf. I worked alongside the others until I was needed, training when I had the time. Meanwhile, Lashevil's finest smiths worked on a set of armor and an axe to send me into battle with.
For more than a month, I've worked without seeing battle. Then, one day, Doram himself came into my bedroom. A second dwarf, one of the smiths, stood behind him, holding something. "Nix!" said Doram. "The Badgermen are back. This time, they've come too close to our fort to ignore. Besides, it is high time we took the fight to our enemy. Will you slay them?" "Aye, sir." I said without hesitation. He nodded. "Than take these, Nix, and make haste!"
He steppe out of the room, and the other dwarf entered. He handed me a set of iron fullplate, which I donned with utmost haste. Then he handed me a battleaxe. "This, my friend, is the greatest axe I have ever forged. I was honored to work with such fine metal, and now it is yours." At first, I was confused; what metal could be so great to humble a Dwarf? But then I realized what I was holding: A Mithril battleaxe! I hefted the fine weapon in the air, and cried "These goblin-sucking sons of turkeys won't know what hit them!"
After a short walk, I saw them. A dozen foul humanoids, their heads shaped like badgers, walked along in what is best described, by the ancient scribe Bojangles, as a "Conga Line". With a fierce war cry, I descended on the foul monsters.
With a quick strike, I cut off the arm of the first badger. The others fled from me, screaming horribly; Only one badgerman stayed behind to help its comrade. But even two badgermen were no match for me, and I brought them down, slicing the first one in half and punching the first one so hard that its skull fractured its brain.
The rest of the badgermen fled before I could fight them. Doram is confident they'll think twice before returning. Truly, this strategy of bringing the fight to Evil is very effective!
