I don't think he is strong enough, that's the point. He won't be able to defeat their combined mindpower when they all try to go after him on the battlefield. Which is why he needs the time to break through the wards and kill some of them off beforehand.

Or don't break and lose mental power, or break and suffer a defeat. Why do you think that "all of them" will do nothing while demon attacks "some of them"?

Because they'll be doing what ever they do while they prepare for a pitched battle against a demon, or if we attack at night, sleeping. And as we all know, the mind is weaker when you're asleep. Sure, the attacked guys could call for help, but if mental combat in this game is anything like mental combat in any other universe, it is very quick, even if they manage to call for help they'll be defeated before it arrives.

I still don't understand, why do you think that Krlnkir is stronger then all their mages\priests\monsterhunters combined and will bypass the wards

We are more outnumbered for magical warfare then we are for convential combat, so I am sure that fighting in this field is a bad idea.
We just need to implant suggestions(kill everyone around you when the battle starts) in a group of them, taking them out one at a time. No challenging them all to a mind fight at once. We don't need to give them nightmares, just force them to do something evil(priests)/power losing(mages) at a critical moment. We should save our(unused) mental will power for the rank and file archers, who are a much bigger threat, and would be more time consuming to take over.
These priests don't even have unit cohesion, Nuke stated most are just guys taught to say fancy words, and dressed up in fancy clothes. These guys are far less of a threat than legitimate priests.
As for the mages: Can we get them to spend all their power, and life force, nuking everyone around them, if we got their mind?

we can boost our might mentaly through sacrafice, we should tell our temples and worshipers to put more of their average praying in for the upcoming battle, gather as much power as possible. were going to lose some hamlets and villages eather way we play this, so lets grab all the peoples nearest our opponent and feast upon them to buff ourselves up? we cant wait too long, but weve got probably a couple or so days of breathing room. wich we can use in the meantime to get our black imps to lay traps secretly. They work underground all the time, any other minions would get spotted so it has to be them.

Unless someone devised a good plan to draw them to a specific spot, well have to go for the hilly area as vouchsafed by UR as our offensive post. Setting the forges to chuck out some sheilds would be useful. If we decide on an area we can put some effort into entrenching some seige weaponry in it, ie: a simple ditch and some stakes in the ground. Seige should target their ranged units as primery. since their the ones who will cause the most overall damage no matter were their positioned.

I agree with UR's plan to buff our troops. as for the dragons, we could make them flame the living hell infront of our army in the opening charge to break our opponents momentum, when the flames die down we can charge back. meanwile using a meagre amount of mental power to make disturbing shapes in the smoke would be an interesting moral killer. The titanmaw should be dropped right behind the enemy troops via dragon delivery as soon as they are commited to fighting the first line.

Gather the baneghouls and equip them with flails. These are blunt trauma weaponry that can turn a knight into a bleeding crumpled lump if we scale them up to baneghoul size. keep a good screen of lesser ghouls around them so that when they move to fight the knights, they have the normal ghouls as a kind of charge momentum breaker.

Sintaurs should spend the first parts of the battle acting as harrasment and skirmish troops, fleeing backwards when ever the enemy try to close in any sense untill they retreat behind the first line. give them some light sheilding and keep them moving at all times. so long as the longbows dont get their eye in and they dont get bogged down, they should waste a few opponents arrows and be a good harrasser.

the organiccrossbow weilders should be divided in formation into small kill teams with an ammo carrier and a melle sute of armour. their rate of fire is one of our best weapons for bringing down heavy armoured troops. a 40/60 mix of steel to bone bolts. -bone is lighter, if they get bogged down then we start having problems-

When the titanghoul is dropped and starts assaulting the back of the enemy infantry formation is the golden moment of oppatunity for an ambush strike by beastmen on the archers. since their large enought to shrug off some arrow fire and arnt particularly demonic, they shouldnt suffer as much as the average troops who are more deepened in our influence. the knights will probably react to the beastmen attacking the archers.

We should also send a mental message to the beastman horde plundering its way around the kingdom that theirs a caravan route behind our enemy they could take with ease. sure this brings them closer to us, but it does trap any survivors between our army and the beastmens, who will also act as a screen to any reinforcements. Be manipulative ^^

We should stagger any night time mental attacks randomly so even if they are prepared they dont get into a rythm. the aprehension from this alone will do wonders for sucking moral away.

Well, I am out if arguments... IMO it's obvious that they are ready for magical attack, and preparing for the pitched battle doesn't change that fact.

My new proposal

Before battle:

Immediately march to north west of Hugh's Shade

Mass worshiping in the Forge Temple and in the CFM (this order is valid for battle itself, of cause)

Krlnkir focuses on:
1) Defending his soldiers from magical attacks (We don't want mass chants destroying our undead forces, while we draw mad two or three enemy soldiers)
2) Brainwash that 500 kids, so they don't afraid to die
2) Raises morale of the armed cultists (they are our core)

Dal'Kahh the Avaricious:
Raises morale of the sergeants (If commanders run...)

Battleplan:

1st line:
500 "civilian" children armed with improvizied weapons :
Orders: Send them as a first wave, let them shot, hack and trample kids. 1st: it's likely evil to kill kids, even cultists.  and we need evil to power our doomforce 2nd,: it's demoralizing to kill children. 3rd: their corpses is a nice necromancy source

2nd Line: 20 living polybolos with bone arrows, 20 Haunted Armours, 4 armoured baneghouls, 25 green imps, 25 yellow imps (they all are almost immune to enemy arrows)
Orders: Move slowly, snipe enemy archers\mages, hide behind 3rd line if enemy sends ground force to destroy our living machineguns. Green imps create illusions of more Polybolos, Baneghouls, Haunted armours

3rd line, 100 ghouls, 250 zombies ( I think they are pretty resistant to arrows, even blessed ones
Orders: Move behind 2nd line, be ready to overtake it, and protect from enemy infantry, cavalry

4th line: The undead force: 400 Skeletal Warriors, 100 spectres, 10 Greater spectres
Orders: defend flanks, fill the holes in 3rd line formation

5th line:
100 beastmen, 250 Armed cultists, Dal'Kahh the Avaricious
Orders: Avoid combat until Enemy sustained considerable losses. Retreat to Grantown if things go too badly

Reserves
20 Amberarsh Packs, 30 Armoured Sintaurs, 10 Living-Polybolos-Wielding-Sintaurs, 25 Skeletal Knights,
Orders: Rush in places where enemy gained advantage

KY in Barlog form (they know what it can do, and will be afraid of Lazor Attack, even if we don't plan to use it)
Odrers:  (in order of importance)
1) Aid doomforce in it's mission.
2) Negate spells\chants
3) Raize zombies\sintaurs from freshly killed
4) Imitate lazor attack at some point
5) Attack in person If enemy is shaken. Retreat if things go too badly

Doomforce:
10 black dragons, 50 red imps, sedated Titaneghoul

Order: deliver Titaneghoul to enemies soft targets (archers\mages\priests\king) Do it after enemy reacts to the 1st and the second line. Then Run away and join reserves

Good, cos I'm out as well. :) I think KY should at least try though. No point in throwing away an advantage if they do happen to be unprepared for it.

Hmm.. Well, I have a couple of suggestions.

Pre-battle.

1) Control the truely evil inside the city, call them to the places of worship, and make them sacrifice themselves to you, drawing as much blood and ruining as much inside the places of worship inside the city, so then priests will be weakened.

Hm. Thats the only suggestion I can give. Mentally order evil and neutral to desecrate churches, and the like.

One small suggestion I have: Ensure that the children feel only pleasure from going to battle, even when they're being stabbed/hacked apart. Slaanesh style.

War Council is deliberating furiously!

Well, this is beautiful!

Can we at least make it rain? If we do make an agreement (for no true battle wouldn't be), then we could subtly shift favor by affecting the battlefield. Yes, it will partly affect us, but them even more. Add in a bit of lightning and thunder, then use that to strike them down.

It looks natural anyway.

Could...(I shudder to even suggest this) the children be singing or chanting our song while they march into battle? The one that brought us here, back in the beginning? Helps in morale.

Add this to UR's child plan and I can say that would at the very least, freak the crap out of me.(shudders)Let's do it! ;D

We shouldn't try to make it rain. And we should hope that there will be no natural rain

1) It's expensive and we need every bit of power for other tasks
2) We have many heavy units, that can stuck
3) We are on offensive, and we need to get that archers as soon as pssible, even light units will move considerably slower at rain
4) We plan to fight in a Barlog form, and it's fire + dragons, imps, Amberashs use fire attacks, too
5) Say bye-bye to the otherwise pretty powerful Yellow imps (BTW, Nuke, glossary request: Add yellow and green imp in imp varietes)

But I like children singing our song, it's epic. Simply epic. And they should carry torches

Eh, lesser demons would be so much useful in the battle.... but I like roleplaying element of not trusting demons

Right, forgot out forte is in fire. Abolish the idea of rain.

Request Glossary addition: Cultist

Also, on the children, keep a happy innocent attitude.

. . .

The mental imagery is already demoralizing.

Not going to challenge the King for a duel between him and Dal'kahh? There aren't that much downsides and it might just get us the ability to fight on favourable terrain.(Probably not, since I doubt the King will trust us). In any case, we get some information about the state of his army.

Also, maybe we should have the black dragons bombard the archers after they have delivered the Present?

And third, why don't use the catapults? They can be very useful with a well timed shot.
