That is so unpractical it is downright awesome.  We would have f-ck all chance of pulling it off, but if we did imagine the boost to evil!

Take a shot at it, I say.

No to exploding or other nice death of the messenger, the plan is make them understimate us

But by playng Godzilla I meant - go fight them without any army

So
plan A:

1) Kill the messanger with a crossbow bolt directed by our magic
2) If they cross the moat, wait till they start fighting with zombies
3) Then start raining crossbow bolts
4) Spectres take care of archers
5) Aviation begins dive bombing, don't caring if they hit zombies
6) Tentacles and elementals block any retreat, killing anyone near canals
7) KY and Balthanor, constantly reanimate fallen as zombies
And fallen zombies as crawling body parts
9) When, if, enemy is shaken assault group goes to finish the job

Plan B:
1) Take Godzilla (yes Dinosaur)  form, go and kill everyone but commander in person, while our army stops hiding, goes on the walls, stands still and enjoys the show
We'll lose some pgysical might due to injuries, byt we'll save forces

Plan C:
A and B combined

I think plan C is the most effecient pand and plan B is the most badass plan
