i propose we bypass the capital and hit the border town of Aviemore. seeing as to how its changed hands several times with the neighboring kingdom its a good place to start a war and keep attention away from us while we move to take the capital. its a border town and both sides seem to think its theirs so if we attack, it its likely both countries will assume the other is moving in and if word of us gets out the other side is using demons.

in summary start a conflict between the 2 nations
bartall moves soldiers from capital to secure border
we take the weakened capital

This.

But I'm curious, wouldn't the current ruler or power nations have spies in every major city? Mortals in this age must surely have some kind of intelligence network.

Quote
BARRTAL (THE KINGDOM OF): The Kingdom of Barrtal is one of the many kingdoms that makes up the Eastern Confederacy. As the name suggests, its territory covers primarily the Barr valley, including the source of the Barr, where the world-renowned Barrspring Steel is mined. The capital of Barrtal is Dolnar-on-Barr, which sprawls across both sides of the river as it leaves the mountains and begins its slow crawl through the Forest of Kings to the sea. The capital is also the only 'real' city in the kingdom, although there are smaller towns along the length of the river- from source down; Akataki, Granttown, Boat-of-Garten and Aviemore, with the last lying beyond Dolnar, on the border with the forest-kingdom of Nagaron. In the mountains around the Barr Valley are several other towns; Aonogake, Culloden, Nairn and   Rothes.
We need to bypass not only the capital, but also many towns with big army in a narrow valley, it's simply impossible....

You know what "Army in a narrow valley." says to me? "Deathtrap." Fill the mountains with our troops, armed with crossbows and black magic. Seal off the exits and turn the valley into a meat grinder.

Hmm. Point of clarification: The Barr runs through a glacial valley. Big n'wide.
Also yes, you cannot sneak an entire army down the valley without someone noticing. (At least, not by mundane means.)

Anyway sleep now. You have extra time to hammer out the best course of action. Remember that the next turn will be a month long.

Oh, and if you're going to have baneghouls, you should have some regular ghouls as well. I won't enforce it mechanically, but, you know. Give regular ghouls some love.

I have to post a new plan before going to sleep, so:  Plan B

And no to intercepting, we wait for  reinforcements, we have nice forts, why not use this two advantages and rush in a battle?
Let's fortify and prepare, our resource base should be ready to defend itself, even when we leave with majority of our army

Servants
1) All Spectres, Sintaurs, fire elementals - Patrol conquered area, avoid big fights
2) Black imps: Help our cult in Barrspring
3) Zombies, banegouls - work in ZWA

Champions
Alyshtr Yrlvnt:
Gets series of harsh and cruel lessons from the father
For example: (Lock Alyshtr in a room, alone, order single Amberash to kill her, stop it if  it injuries her too severely. If she lose, scold her and take away red imp for few days.)
But there are more lessons , not less harsh  (propose lessons, it's cool... and if she dies, whatever, !!fun!!)

Dal'Kahh the Avaricious:
Train 15 Cultists commanders (better warriors, will command smaller squads)

Unamed Guard:
Get's mutated by Krlnkir Yrlvnt:
Mutate Former Akataki Guard (take a slave, rip his arms, add this arms to the guard). Also, lie to him that he is your son, half demon and his name is Trfosht Yrlvnt (again, it's cool, waiting before he gets totally corrupted is not, IMO)

Zombie working army
1) Build barracks for another 100 slaves\soldiers
2)Dig, many canals near Akataki for; irrigating farms and villages, defense bonuses, slightly draining river downstream
3) Reinforce Akataki palisade with all that dug out earth

Cult
1) Arm at least 40 cultist crossbowers,  more - better
2) Run farmsteads in Akataki, stockpile food both in the town and in Barrspring
3) Mining\lumberjacking in Barrspring
4) Forge steel gates similar to Barrspring one, but for Akataki
5) Build a big brewery in Barrspring. It will brew beverages that slowly corrupt and mutate mortals, but is perfectly fine for any demon
6) Torture captives
7) Worship Krlnkr in the CFM
8 ) Aid ZWA

Krlnkir Yrlvnt
1) Summon many new black imps (really, this little buggers can free our cultists and slaves  for more important tasks (army\mutating\sacrificing) than mundane work all we need to support them - provide some booze)
2) Summon tentacle monstrosity in the moat of Akataki, it should have easy switch on\off
3) Scan conquered area for sources of evil, no matter how small they are, consume the smallest, remember bigger
4) Aid cult in all it's tasks
5) Aid champions in all their's tasks

I think we should get Alyshtr to kill one of her slave 'toys'. That is, unless she isn't already viewing humans as worthless expendable prayer batteries already.
Then we get her to slay a small animal. With her bare hands and non-mind-control powers. So she knows how to fight and fight good.
Also, a question for Nuke: Is she smart enough to begin mage training/learning tactics?

Lets not mutate the guard juuuust yet. We should wait until he's begun to be bent to our will. We should force him to kill slaves for his dinner. Just one a week. Kill this man or you die of starvation. We need to break him. And when he's a catatonic wreck, we can rebuild him however we wish.
EDIT: Also, the brews made in the brewery should not harm our followers... We could make a special brew that has to be heated to boiling in order to be consumed safely by mortals? A special drink to consume when worshiping?

Yes. Especially if we can find any of his loved ones in our slave pool.

Yes. Especially if we can find any of his loved ones in our slave pool.
Why use his real loved ones? Our access to his mind includes read/write. We can make him think we want him to kill his brother for his next few meals, even though it's just a random male slave. Though, using real loved ones would be funnier.

We should totally name him Savlian Matius or something similar when we're done.

Because it's needlessly cruel. We like being needlessly cruel.

I say go easyer on our daemon spawn. She cant even get about by herself yet.
-would need to be around 1 year old if shes got a x2 growth rate before she can walk-
Right now it would be simple and easy to teach her mind tricks and so forth.

Also: if we try for another daemon spawn i say we go for a male who specializes in magical arts of destruction.

Our daughter will be a forge daemon as is. We can keep producing our spawn for different tasks as we go, and they can eventualy have children of their own. This will keep our essance in this world even after our death if it should occur and allow easy rebirth. Along with coffering massive advantages in the ways of fighting and the fact if we have a part deamon worshipper base their all connected to the realm of evil and will provide a greater tith of power per prayer.

+1 to mind games with mr guard
