Yet another random design idea:

Elite Biolopolyboli:
- Made from high quality steel and a peon (or more than one, if you count how the energy for the magic is gotten) rather than just akatree wood. All craftsimpship is of the highest quality. Each bolt packs slightly more of a punch and flies straighter due to this.
- Dual asynchronous loading mechanisms, for twice the rate of fire.
- The eyes (mounted as widely as possible for maximum depth perception,), soul, and a limited mobility make up a system for aiming assistance- not as much aiming BETTER than you would, as doing the work of aiming for you, letting you just wave it in the general direction of the enemy from the hip while doing other stuff and still landing as many hits as if you had paid close attention and looking through the scope.
- One fully functioning hand which is useful for various things- mainly hanging from something, such as a tree branch as a trap, or the outsetreched arm of someone who need both hands for something, and firing sort-of autonomously. (WARNING: is not smart enough to distinguish friend from foe, look around for things it's missed, or other things needed for autonomous combat. When deployed it's a trap not a turret. )
- Enchanted for lower weight similar to Balthanos.
- Enchanted to prevent jamming or damage from getting wet or dirty.
- Built in aids to channel magic into bolts- the user still has to provide the spell effect and energy, but being tied to a physical object can help with range, stability/penetrating certain types of magic defences, and benefiting from the aiming help system. (It also provides an alternative targeting method for otherwise inflexible innate spells (Like a red imps fireball) and raw energy releases.)


(Fun side note: In theory you could five a single random peasant one of these in each and and one hanging from each arm for firepower equivalent to 8 normal Biolopolyboli. In practice, doing this would be an abomination against all economy, and making two Turrments would be superior in every way. )

For now, Eliza and Balthano should get one of these each. Giving them to non-champions MIGHT be an option sometime in the future, to valuable wizards, or maybe making a special infiltration unit from one of these and a Greater Spectre.

Why did we stick Eliza's mom in a alchemy lab? Did we at least strip it of anything that she could use?

Doubt that'd work, she seems to really hate us. Seriously though, I'm kind of worried that she might get over her despair and use what may be in the lab to blow the palace up or something.

Update status: Getting there, just... very slowly.

I hit a few bumps trying to write this. For one thing, I had been happily writing for an hour before I realized that nothing I had thusfar written was even remotely related to the update (It's all just Nameless talking about random shit). That left me grasping for some other way of doing the update. I even considered doing it in poetry.

Anyway... I realized that the best way to get it done was to just get it done, so I sat down and said to myself: what happens this update, then I wrote that down. So I now know basically what happens.
Now all that remains to be done is to write about it. Which I have decided to do through the eyes of Nameless, slightly editing my initial attempt but keeping most of it.

So, you know. If you don't like hearing about Nameless slowly clumsily falling to the dark side, the next update may not be for you. I think I may put a Tl;dr at the end of it... because it is shaping up to be ridiculously long. I believe someone joked about three-post updates?
