I dunno, I bet getting mugged would give him some pretty cool writing ideas.

That too. Plus, the only times I've ever had someone trying to mug me, or anyone I know, has been in broad daylight in the company of other people. Wtf.

Haha, I've already been outside in the middle of the night. It really depends on where you go - where I live is really safe, so there's no problem at all. I've never been mugged. The only strange incident I can think of is being punched by an angry drunk.

And it is quiet. I love that. There's not a lot of light too, but I still can't see the stars. Hmpf.

Eerr, I have tried that too. I can only see friends on weekends. But I'm going to try to see them more often !

All in all it looks like getting out of my house more often is a good idea :D

Aha! Why don't you, mug someone else? That way, both you AND your victim will have something cool to write about! :D

I had a similar experience not some time ago, Ancre. However I play guitar, so the solutions might be a little different. Still i hope they might prove helpful, though I feel I'll be like captain obvious here:

To fight the lack of inspiration I do things which have something in common - they all involve me trying something new, e.g.:
- I bought USB keyboard and wrote a couple of electronica and some trance-like songs (take on something new)
- I've learnt a classical song (moonlight sonata) on my primary instrument (excercise, patience and being consequent)
- I started learning stuff, which i ignored in my past - blues (try new genres, be less ignorant)
- Play with someone new, see their ideas so i can refresh my style

Also watch this, it might prove helpful:

As a writer myself I have only one advice really...

You need experiences! Like others have said... reading, contemplating things, listening to music, interacting with people and Doing things you like might help.

BUT

Dont do it because we said so.... Do things you like... play games, watch some shows you like.... if you are going to force yourself to do something just because we said so then it could have opposite effect!

Or spawn a writing arc involving people being forced to do x, when really,

they were doing what they meant to do all along :3
