Well that certainly sucks. Considering I hadn't been on for a while I've not lost recent work but still it's not a nice feeling.

From the admittedly few conversations I've had with Volg I'm surprised that raiding with TNT has been removed. As much as it was a bane on the first map I enjoyed that side of the server.

I'd still like to see us invade another server and strike the earth but maybe one of the smaller Bay12 servers is a better idea.

I'm actually very, very disappointed with the removal of TNT. This basically means the end of Raiding as I know it, and most if not all of the fun I've had with my raiding buddies (TNT cannons were the FUN part!)

Soooo anyone able to host a server? I mean I could if I didn't want to do anything else on my internet connection and not look at my power bill   :-\

EDIT: Idea, perhaps merge with planehacked and convince PTTG to run a tekkit server... maybe? (Would need to talk to him about this)
EDIT2: Or we could just ride along with the next map and see how it goes?

There are a couple of servers hosted by Bay12 members. Forsaken's got one heavily modded server and a TerraFirma server, as far as I know, and then there's the vanilla Planehacked :)

I'm probably gonna wait for the 1.3 patch before investing any more building time in MC servers :)

Yeah, my vote is to invade something else.
If we can't find a suitable Minecraft server within a month or two, than maybe we should hop onto some free-to-play MMO.
Once it comes out, City of Steam looks pretty dwarfy (Even though dwarves aren't playable. I'm not sure if they died out or what, but they used to exist and be pretty crazy about cybernetics.  Some humans with a culture influenced by them are playable though.)
Any other ideas for a new game to invade?

Something where Dwarfy innovation is rewarded in competition with others.

So yeah, probably another Tekkit PVP server, seeing as the one we were on is no longer PVP and never liked innovation much anyway.

It seems TN might be adding raiding back in in some form (see http://terranovos.com/forum/m/3681249/viewthread/3734783-possible-raiding-system).

This sucks.
TN was an awesome server, and even tough i didnt really play on it, more like walked around in the base for a while and logged off again not having done anything, it had was very neatly set up.

Note how they only have "You know best! NERF TNT!" and "I WANT MORE RESTRICTIONS! BAN TNT!" as poll choices.
I understand some of their problems, but this could be avoided with civilian and military plots.

Can we PLEASE find a server that lets us make our deathairships and USE them?

My main enjoyment of online games with other Bay12ers is derived from building something dwarfy together to crush our enemies, then watching success or failure. If TN is becoming an art server, that isn't very appealing at all.

From the OP:
Quote
Things to accomplish:
Make big and cool stuff and have fun together
Introduce the dwarven religions to the places we invade
Have a huge impact on the community culture
Wreck(sic) havok if possible(and socially acceptable, such as in PVP enviroments(sic)/Really dumb places)

So, anyone have any ideas of where to go? Somewhere where we can compete with people and show the superiority of the dwarven way!

The problem that always happens with PvP servers comes from a paradox. Your told to build and yet told to destroy. Now we don't mind this because we just rebuild then destroy bigger things. For most people though they tend to either just want to build or just want to destroy. The builders while they might enjoy the threat don't actually want their stuff blasted and the destroyers don't want to build and like to hit impressive looking things. This means you end up with either a server with nothing on it besides shacks cause the destroyers don't want to build or rules which restrict destruction become tighter and tighter till its basically just a server where it might as well be a non-PvP server.

Thats why i wanted our own Tekkit server, where we decide the rules.
some of the time can be spent on working together on project, other to build you own little fort.
Since it will only be Bay12 members on it, we can forego any sort of rules, towny, factions (except whitelist ofc).
we can arange wars between our forts and challanges to beat trap systems.

i say this becuase we actually had very little interaction on the TN server with anybody not from Jotunheim.
Also, i would like to get back to a Bay12 only faction. There was a huge quality difference between the Dorf and non-Dorf.

Well, you got forsakens server, wich is basically tekkit, take or give a few mods.

Except my server is vanilla, not bukkit, due to Mystcraft and a few other mods not having a bukkit port yet.

Though it's entirely possible I may work out something along the tekkit lines and just drop mystcraft altogether.

Mystcraft isnt really a big deal when you got jetpacks and railcraft.
I fucking love jetpacks. (tough they would be harder to aquire without mystcraft)

I really wish mystcraft had a bukkit port so we had more control over the worlds.

And yes, jetpacks are fun. :)
