Right, sorry for the billionth post in a row. I watched a few of you build a machine, but I had no idea what was happening. There's tons of stuff built already, and I'm totally out of the loop. If somebody's got some time, we could go on some sort of voice chat somewhere so I could just follow you around while you'd explain what the heck was happening. I've only played vanilla MC, and everybody's a pro already, so I need some help.

Fastest way to learn would be to check up on the redpower and Industry craft wiki pages while playing around in creative mode

Yeah, but what are we trying to do, what's the overall plan, why are we being attacked so much, etc etc. I dunno. Solo play just isn't fun for me these days.

We are doing an epic 3 faction raid on conventus saturday around prime time(circa 5 PM GMT).

good job on softening them up!

Regularly my FPS is dropping to 0 - 6 FPS. I don't think I'm going to be able to play any more. Not sure what the problem is as my SP Technic worlds are working fine.

Edit: Fixed it. It was a problem caused by IC2 machine sounds. You can either turn them off in the IC2 config files or update lwjgl.

How do you update lwjgl? I found a bunch of jar files inside the %AppData% technic launcher folder but don't want to randomly replace them :)

Terranovos seems to have a mumble server which should allow a few of us to talk, in case anybody wants to make use of that?

Basically as this guide describes but in .techniclauncher\tekkit\bin.

I'd make use of mumble if others were. My old computer didn't like it, though, I hope my newer one will.

Don't worry Anvilfolk, you're not the only one who doesn't understand everything going on. That's why I let engineering to the engineers! :D

By the way, the RP2 solar panels connected to/near the secret entry are getting in the way of the future central plaza. I don't know if covering them will stop them functioning, so could someone move them?

Through experimentation on a single player world, a slightly-less-than-half-block (tripplepanel?) of obsy can withstand a single TNT burst at point-blank range. ITNT seems to damage it in a strange pattern, like it protects less at wider angles.
It also looks darn cool when the rest of the block (coverslab?) is Basalt Brick. I call that mix "Blackknight 1" armour plates.
A half-and-half (slabs) mix is more expensive and doesn't look as cool, but withstand ITNT without damage. I call it "Blackknight 2" armour.
I didn't test EE explosives extensively, but they seem to be much more armour-piercing than chemical explosives (and seem to dupe armour plates?). Nukes are right out.

With any luck this information helps build cheaper walls.

I also realized that frames involve an ingot of brass APIECE! So land-battleships; while doable in the 1000-frame limit, won't be cheap!

We need to get a list of people who we're playing with. Seeing names I don't recognise well makes me think we're under attack.

Oh and I was wondering what the policy will be with the vault. Who gets access? I'd imagine this might get complicated with such a large group.

The main reason I ask is that I came on just now wanting to build an automatic chicken farm but there aren't the right metals around. I assume they are in the vault now?
