I asked the mod halosomethingyear and he came and took a look at it and said it would count as griefing. So close yet so far. Ivefan guessed that it was because you had to place the pipes next to the targets building and I agree with him on that.

That sucks. Maybe if we can figure out a short range (~3 blocks?) breaching charge, it'll be kosher.

The problem is that to breach something underwater you need to not have water between the explosion and the target so nothing will be kosher as far as normal methods for underwater breaching go. Water just blocks explosions to much. As for normal breaching this method doesn't work under the rules but I am sure there is something else that might. Maybe something to deal with a too high a voltage through some wire or machine setup. Most machines have a problem with anything over Lv and if wire setup right would work there is that really low stuff that even Lv takes out.

Also just thought of this, Dragonshardz, when you are getting on you should post here on the forums until we have everyone in our group in the town or in the very least get a good number of people who can do it for you.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

A point to debate. Should we spend a lot of coal on getting solars so that we can get the matter generator running constantly and use the matter to make materials to bring, or should we bring the coal?
Could also just setup a few tree farms and peat bogs and burn it in generators.

Bring? I assume you are talking about the new map. I was under the impression we might be able to get the base copied across?

Oh well. I wonder where I heard that.

Does this include whatever is in your inventory? When is it likely to happen?

I suggest we bring everything we need to get a simple expandable bunker set up. An airlock leading to a crossroads would work well.

Basically, we will get to lock a double chest in 'The Ark' that they're building and then they'll port that over to the new map.
And when you lock that chest you will have to relinquish the one you have in our base, because only one locked chest.
And no, inventory will not follow over.
We'll just bring as much raw materials as we can.

Cheers for answering my questions.

As for what to do with coal: I say we turn a great deal of it into diamonds, turn those into blocks, and take those.

Edit: Looks like you can't bring diamond blocks or UU matter.

we got space for it anyway so i guess diamonds.
And in other news, we have now reached industrial efficiency in digging out large areas and ferry it away.

Anyone else thinking that the byproduct of our new found (and very dorfy) mass excavation abilities, loads of giant holes deep in the earth, would be perfect for a giant oldschool mobgrinder?

So, is there anything I can help with as far as projects at the moment?

I don't belive so, because the server is going to switch to a new map soonish (From what little I've gathered, which is just vauge ideas really) so any projects are pretty much pointless.

'Course with Dwarf Fortress, the only relevant question is, "How far away will the ASCII gibs splash on landing?"
5 squares per limb, if you raise the north orthoclase bridge before sacrificing one of them so they have a straight shot to the bottom of the chasm.

What you can currently help with is gathering base resources. We have a lot of diamonds and such but we could have more, the same with things like coal and what have you. Really in the end we are stocking up for the move though we still are making things, don't get me wrong, its just personal projects now. Basically either collect stuff or make something yourself for yourself. Also the list of allowed materials that you can put in the double chest will be up at least a week before the actual move or at least this is what I have been hearing from the mods and admins. Currently I have a bunch of actual ore in my personal chest because we don't know if we will be allowed blocks so ore would be the next best thing though it only contains 2 ingots to a piece instead of 9.

The base can get copied across - Volg will be stripping out all the machines and chests and stuff when he does so, though.

EACH person in the server, as far as I know, gets a double chest in the Ark.
