The thing is they would leave long before they run out of power just because they are not going to be waiting around for half an hour. If they are not wearing quantum they are not as much as a problem as they could be, if they are then we can't do anything about them. Murderholes is just leaving weakness in our walls. I vote against it.

So it seems I accidentally put my canteen in my wheelbarrow and didn't notice... and then I got really thirsty... so right before going to sleep I go to take a swig from my canteen and... end up snorting a line of low-grade meth.

Not really a problem with blast resistants. But it would be hard to implement them in the current design so better just leave it to turtle defences.

Akhier: please tell me you are not making redstone engines to use as an EU power supply!
They are very space ineffecient, please just stick to solar power. which can be hidden under as many layers of reinforced glass as you'd like.

Nah, I just wanted to make my design in-server at least once. Its currently not really doing anything so I hooked it up to my tree farm. Really all its for is to look cool which it does. Also space inefficiency is not exactly that much of a problem. Sure my thing would only make an average of 1.84EU/T but its a constant power source that never stops and looks quite good. I will probably make a bigger setup at some point just to say I did and use that to make some power. Maybe a 5 by 2 module engine and stick it in some sort giant construction so it looks really cool. I think I can make the module sideways so maybe a stack of them or something.

Don't stack engines, even redstone ones, they WILL explode!

can anybody explain what the deal is with the basement?

No, not stack as in on each other, they all go to a pipe. How else would I get the power from them?

Yesterday, I calculated that I would need a stack of red lumars for my island. I wandered around the world to fetch a stack of roses, then I went into the Nether to fetch a stack of glowstone, then I crafted the lumars...then I realized my calculations were wrong and I would actually need two stacks of lumars.

Uhm.. so i made a three level peat bog which is producing a fair amount of peat and converting all that treefarm sand to dirt.
Question is, should we just burn the peat in a generator or bother with peat engines?

Now what we will probably do is end up just burning it. The proper things which if not for the power link thing would have been high on my list of things to do is to use peat engines on all of our farms as thats technically what they are supposed to be running on. The peat engine is literally made to power the farms just enough without to much waste. If we do use it for peat engines then I advise we use pneumatic tubes so we can just set up a system and forget it. Now for my tree farm I think it should keep running the way it is as  its kind of using the electricity its making for more things then just powering the farm. On the other hand the other tree farm is a decent enough place to convert over to peat. Also seeing as the peat farm is right at the source of the peat it might be considered to make it run on what it produces.

i am working on installing peat engines in our forestry stuff.

does the bog farm really need an MV solar array? isn't that like 64 EU't spent on the bog?
can't we use a few peat engines instead?
we could really use all that power in our power station instead!

EDIT: i replaced the mv solar panel with peat engines at the peat farm, seems a no-brainer it should use peat to power itself. it might need more power though.
how does the input for the peatfarm work? seems it has run out of bog earth...

i also improved the reed farm and made it larger, so it takes full advantage of the range of harvester. it's a great way to get scrap!
also powered the reed farm and one of the tree farms with peat engines. i got a lot of solar panels i need to install in our power grid, we will double our capacity now!

The peat engine was specifically designed to make the farms work. The thing that I wish we had was the logistic pipes as it would make it all so much easier to setup. I think that if we use the redpower tubes and such we may be able to such up a workable self refueling system.

I wandered to the new base, all i got was annoying lag, i couldnt enter anything at all, then a spider lagkilled me and i decided to quit.
Fuck this, i hate that server.

We had the entrance blown up, I called in a mod to check if it was grieffing but I don't know what will be happening. Also there was a hole in the highest roof which anyone with quantum could jump in through and that had been there for a while.

Edit: I fixed the roof hole and someone else patched up the entrance so at least no one can just walk in. We will need someone who knows what it was like to begin with to fix it up properly.
Also I improved the peat bog setup and the peat engines a bit. I do have one things to say about it. DON'T USE STONE CONDUCTIVE PIPES! They lose 1% energy every pipe and we have enough gold that we should use those instead as they only lose .1% or the power. Also if your going to be piping energy long distance just use tele pipes. You end up losing to much with actual pipes.
