So, I made several decoy towers on top of our land. They look fancy enough that they might throw off raiders, but they weren't hard to make and contain no valuables.

Will probably start trying to find mobs to kill so I can enchant our stuffs, just in case.

Yeah, sorry about that guy ank.

Anyways, I've went for a "nomadic exploration" (took 1,5 stacks of wool for tents with me, food and leather armor) with Valgodesko, that 'stealing' guy, and instead of setting camps on deserts, we went on a saily sail through the ocean.

Shortly after embarking from the docks of ruined stone house, we found a strange cobble structure - a bridge on the ocean, a 1x1 tower with a ladder leading to a big, big rectangle. After further investigation we realized that this was a human-made monster spawner/grinder (Valgodesko was down to half a heart after he fell down). We sailed a bit further, and to our shock and excitement, we found a ruined ocean village - some wooden houses, a stone brick hut and glass bridges between them. We noticed a wierd glass tube, flooded with water. We blocked the water off, went down the tube - it was going all the way to the lowest levels, not bedrock tho. There were tight and dark tunnels there. When we reached the end of the tunnels, there was also an opening to a dark cave, on a level that could have diamonds(we didn't find any). After exploration, I decided that there were humans here - but a significant number of mushrooms and no torches proved that they either were here a long time ago, or that they didn't bother to mine anything or put torches up. Why did I think that Steve was there?
1x1 stone tower, going up - just like the one we went down, but much shorter. We ended up in a strange cave filled with iron bars, some kind of failed labirynth. We explored further, finding chests, workbenches, even bookshelves. And then, we found our way to the surface.

We were right outside the fucking glass tube, just 10 blocks far from it.

Next day, while Val was at school, I looked around the village, and noticed another thing just nearby. After going close, I realized that this ocean is a treasure mine itself. There was a bigass cobblestone castle, not griefed unless you count few holes that were made in order to get in and loot everything. Inside, there were wooden houses, a house made entirely of obsidian, and strange signs - they said that one can 'steal everything grief everything' and other wierd stuff.
Today, I claimed the castle with Sanae, and we are planning to make it our outpost.

@FritzPL: A suitable spot will be found and engravings of the Epic Journey of FirtzPL and Valgodesko and their capture of territory and mad lootz for the greater glory of the Epic Mechanisms will be constructed. Maybe along one of the more important railway tunnels? In the diamond vault?

@Vattic: All Dwarfs are welcome and I should say that the famed inventor of the ☼Mechanical Erupting Volcano☼ should certainly have a place of honor in Tallowlashed. Just get on the server and yell at any us, we'll send an invite. You invented the Mechanical Erupting Volcano. Enough said.

I'll probably be on tomorrow, got this random book today "The Left Hand of God" and I can't seem to stop reading it for more than five minutes at a time.

I have a few traps I'd like to build on here too but nothing as large as the Mechanical Erupting Volcano.

I'm on right now but can't get anyone's attention.

Edit: Well I was before the server got reset. Anyone around to invite me when it's back up? I'm nearly starved in game right now.

if you can find some deciduous trees. then youll be able to get some apples from destroying them. Otherwise, just have a good wander. depends. if it gets desperate just wait till someone can organise to invite you straight up.

Got an invite and had a look around. Nice work everyone! I already replaced the iron I took for making tools.

Oddly I'm getting apples from pine trees.

So I think it was Fritz who originally discovered this but in one of the abandoned mineshaft in our mines there's and L shaped corridor with three spider spawners in it. Obviously, this makes an excellent danger room  and I've used it as such a few times. The only problem was that it always took me ages to find the damn place in our winding mines. So today when I went for a little training I dug to the surface to see exactly where it was. Wouldn't you know it, it was right next to Wannazzki's awesome lighthouse!. So I've made a tunnel (very tasteful, just needs smoothing and filling in in places) form the lighthouse to the spawners. I'll smooth it in a bit and carve the thing into an arena shape. Remember to set your brightness to max before you go in, torches will stop the spawning.

In sadder news, just after I had finished the tunnel, I /f homed and fell through  the world into the void, suffocated and lost all my stuff forever. *Sniff*. That full diamond armor and sword had been with me since the founding and through 4 deaths. I also lost the 19 levels I had so carefully grinded (ground? What is the past participle of "grind" when used in the game sense?). Back in iron now, good thing I dropped of nearly a whole stack of ore before my unfortunate accident so there's not to much of a loss to the fort.

Its right inside the lighthouse, ladder chute then tunnel.

@Iamanelf: Should be fine, just ask for an invite when your on the server. In the unlikely event that people don't understand you are a DF, just tell them magma-Armok-Tantrum-Spiral etc.
