I've deposited some materials in our new Mountainhome that I ,uh, "found" on my scouting travels. Six stacks of iron, a stack and a half of gold, 2 and a half stacks of books, 5 diamonds and a music disk now forms the starting treasury of our as yet unnamed fortress. Unfortunately , after I dropped of the lootz I got disconnected from the server. Hopefully it'll still be there when I can get back.

My oh my, people on this server are careless with base locations. I've already come across three stocked up unclaimed fortresses filled with loot.

Also, our mountain-base is somewhat ready now, with a barracks, lots of building supplies, and an absurdly large cavern we need to explore at some point.

The Citycraft server.

i've joined earlier today, teleported home, got killed by zombies.
repeat
repeat
killed zombies
borrowed(stole) some iron for tools.
went mining, got anoyed there was no stairs in the mining shaft.
made stairs all the way down.
begang to dig out more room for storage.
realized we are dangerously close to the surface.
piled on more dirt to make our base harder to find.

anybody planning on playing soon?

EDIT: progress report:
been mining out the tunnels below, adding a lot of dirt on top of our base, to make it harder to find it acidentally.
trying to ind slimes to make sticky pistons for traps(we need traps), but no luck yet.
been exspanding the main hall, to make room for a storage room.
we gotta think about food at some point, or do we just live off of apples? giant mushroom farm maybe?

anybody know anything about the buying system? can we maybe buy some slime balls?

so, i found this thing on their forum:
-Trusted-

/tp [player] - Allows you to teleport to any online player
/tphere [player] - Allows you to teleport any online player to you (player must give you permission)
/setwarp [warp name] - Sets a warp so people can do /warp [name] to get to it
Flying is allowed

so, if you are truested(which you can be for free very fast) YOU CAN FLY!?!
on a war map? Dragon Ball Z!?!?!?

is this a no-go?

Uh, hmmm

I haven't SEEN any flying players so far, which is quite ways better than the other server.

We may as well stick around and see how things go. Meanwhile, someone ought to look for alternatives just in case

I will keep making our mountainfort bigger until such a time as we decide to move on, but the flying part seems really silly.

i'll be playing again in about 50 min (01:50 forum time), hope some other dorfs join me!

I just discovered that there are no restrictions on lava buckets on this server. Artificial volcano anyone? 50 wide to-the-bedrock lava moat?

Anyway, the basic farm is up (melon slices galore), but could do with expanding. If we stay on this server, we should eventually move everything (esp. our stockpiles) much further underground and turn the basic fort we have now into a trap filled decoy (free lava bucket fun will be our friend here) hiding the real entrance to the fort. Also, once we have tnt to spare, I'd like to rig some mines in the nearby player strongholds, mostly to see if anyone sets them off. After all, given how easy it is to steal and raid on this server I'd like to know who's actually living near us.

EDIT: The farm is about half way down the stairway

What's the IP? The OP and steam group really need updating.

I intend to work on a danger room and underground tree farm now. If anyone finds birch saplings, put them in the farm chest.

you can easily farm wheat and suger cane underground too. just some water next to dirt tiles and sufficient lighting and walla.

Add a chest at the end to store seeds and wheet/suger cane that isent being used at that time and youve got a fully self sustaining fortress farm that requires minimal maintanence and can be carried out by anyone online or around at that time.

-a room of 5 x 10 with water occuppying the 2 and 4 collum from blocks 1 to 9  is usualy good enought, but you may want to expand it depending on population, its all about getting the light to the middle of the room thats the problem-
suger cane farming will also have to be 4 blocks high to get maximum growth. You could also build a cactus farm if so desired, for those lovely indoor trap mazes/pitfalls etc.
