Dwarven Invaders - Dead Roots Stirring
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:16:30 am »

Hey guys, i got an idea, what about we scrape alot of B12'ers together, and fire up a hivemind swarm thing chat, then we find a minecraft server and invade it?
Not invasion as running in to spam and grief, but to settle down and have a huge influence, like going on a factions server and making a giant dwarven fortress, holding off any invader that dares to come near us, amassing iConomy wealth beyond the imagineable. While doing that, we tell people about DwarfFortress and our community. The amount of people joining in and the general warmth of this community(atleast in the lower boards) will create a nice athmosphere, of being one, giant, virtual, dwarf. If we should get bored by the server(not enough fighting, maybe the admin is being a dick) we do whatever final action as our signature and then we pack up and find a new server to storm.

Things to accomplish:
Make big and cool stuff and have fun together
Introduce the dwarven religions to the places we invade
Have a huge impact on the community culture
Wreck havok if possible(and socially acceptable, such as in PVP enviroments/Really dumb places)

List of people willing to enter:

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

Minecraft makes my computer gasp, but I'm in if you ever crash an Ace of Spades server. I love that game.

Some of us are actually doing something similar on N@W. And we did build Armok's shrines and tried to convert people to DF. So, per se, we're dwarven invaders.

although, as part of the leadership of the dwarven nation on that server, I have to say, DrPoo, that you are massively overestimating the power of B12 when playing minecraft. we do have an influence, but if our nation is a representative sample of the community, iconomy wealth beyond the imaginable is just a dream.

I never thought of N@W because its so hard to get in, and you have to make applications and have to download weird stuff to get it to run.

I know. I wasn't proposing it for your "invasion". Just offering it as some information about what could happen to a large B12 group in a minecraft server.

j'suis seems French ( Je suis = I am). but fantastico would be Italian, or Spanish.
I don't feel offended, but you should have picked just one language, instead of mixing several.

@drpoo: happy to be useful :)
as somebody who played several games with B12, let me tell you something: it is hard to make us follow authority. a common goal might keep people together for a while, but soon or later the super nation will become more fragmented. expect to lose pieces here and there. you have to be good at convincing people and keeping them interested.

jesus christ joining N@W(I want, by side of running this hivemind intergamensional combine empire dwarf swarm, to play with the B12 faction) seems pretty complicated.
I have to download alot of stuff, like a loader wich i think is outdated with the current version of the game and then all kinds of stuff like writing an application longer than the one i am going to get that job at the local mart with. Heard of the free building weekend, but i really dont know what to do. I really want to explore that thing.

Edit: No fuck that, that dumb launcher always balbbers about update beign itnerrupted, and i have heard rumors of it stealing passwords and ruinign your minecraft, no fucking way.

I'm in.

And I'll never be in a MC server as N@W, just because of the application stuff. And I don't think I'm the only one who is repelled by the application stuff.

Also, side note :
Dont let the group become a pop-up spammer as the original Bay12 Steam Group ;)
