Id suggest we first get materials neccesary for basic survival, then find the designated spot. Go there.

Make sure we got a proper food source
Make sure we got proper protection
Build/Dig Basic Infrastructure
Build/Dig Basic Work Areas
Build/Dig Housing/Designate areas for people to make housing

Secondary, but ubiquitous jobs:

Gather Overworld Materials, especially wood
Make Charcoal for miner's torchs
Mine/Secure a cave system.


On the long term:

Set up proper Defenses, so safe that you can work regardless of time
Make sure it dosent become another concrete hell, make it pleasing to look at, no white and black CF foam and pipes everywhere is not pleasing, natural looking stuff like wooden stiarcases, brick walls, natural lighting, art, ART EVERYWHERE
Beat other civilisations into opression, like terraforming their areas into harsh hot/cold wastes.
Spread the darkness of our evil dark god overlord, cover the sky in obsidian and turn the surface into a dangerous mess.

I have this idea of giant mushroom shaped structures that cover large areas to make mobs spawn and make things evil.

Can I just make it known that 1) Volg's stuff will be set up which presumably will include farms and crap, so most of that's not necessary and
2) Terraforming the other guys into desert wouldn't make any difference - the map is going to be a wasteland without any vegetation anyway.

   I am partial to blanketing the world in darkness. If we use dark wool and make it look like a cloud we might even get to put it over the dark lords place for atmosphere. Then again it might just be my desire to see a plan I had in the past in some form or another carried out.

Every time I try and join I get the whole "Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset." error. I tried a fresh install without any luck. Any idea guys?

longs list of things that could be wrong:
-server might be down
-your internet sucks.
-wrong version of java(need 64 bit for 64 bit windows)(and you need to delete 32 bit java)
-wrong version of tekkit(use rec build i think)
-wrong version of the tekkit launcher(get a new one from the website) AND delete the whole technic folder just to be sure)
-lots of other things.

EDIT: i'm havcing problems too... probably just huge server load.
