My list of marines is as follows:

Luke Prowler - Grunt
Kilroy - Flamer
BishopX - Grunt/chainfist
elfeater grunt
Simmura Hammer SGT/Grunt
Warhammer 651 Ass can/CC
Xanatos - Hammer
Koliup - Grunt

so we need a sword sgt, at least.

Personally I found the Commander voice acting to be hammy as all get out. It's like every Marine they ever voice is part of some horrible stage play. The tremulous voice, the overly enunciated everything.....I know Space Marines are supposed to stand above humanity, but they don't need to talk like Dudley Doright.

In DoW 2 the voice acting is much better. But holy shit, I couldn't decide whether to laugh or frown when the Space Marine force commanders decide to open their mouths.

It's the basis of the entire setting. It's to Relic's credit that they managed to get the rest to sound not-quite-as-hammy as the tabletop fluff.

See, I think they can say a lot of the stuff they need to for it to be 40k....it can be said like a normal person might say it though. The back up marine voices are all great. It's just without the synth effect, all the normal voice actors just sound absurd.

I think you could swap the 40k language into any modern movie about marines and it would probably work. So. Just because 40k as a setting is ham-tacular doesn't mean the voice actors can't be slightly more down to Earth. Reading 40k is amazing. Listening to 40k should be arguably as good.

We still need a volunteer to be sword sergeant. We still need initial positions (who's in front, who's second, etc). This stuff was supposed to be done on Monday, so we could start. C'mon people, discussions of ham can wait  :(

I'm going to vote for having the flamer and a grunt up in the north room while the other grunt and Aradiel hang provide a crossfire from the Southern room.

If we are going to have the flamer in the north room and the sergeant in the south, it should be flamer first, grunt, grunt, sergeant

I, Advolvit I, SPESS MARHEEN will move forward every turn, until I reach the north room! Teh foul xenos shain't escape mah promethium!

(I expend all of my ap moving forward, if I can't make it on for any reason I want to be moved 9 spaces forward, just inside the north room, then turned 180 then put on overwatch)

I will move 5 spaces forward  this turn. The faster we are in position to better we can defend against the xeno scum... as soon as Argatson moves his fat metal ass.

(As a suggestion, kilroy, it might be better to move seven blocks ahead (to L6) so it would be easier to move to a corridor in case on of them is packed with stealers)
