Mechs have found themselves all over the place and a majority of the large scale mercenary companies have a good handful along with industrial heavy lifters that could be converted for combat use not to mention the fact that fuel isnt a major issue due to Duronium-Coal and Duronium-Diesel Engines, Duronium seriously assists in enriching the overall horse power and fuel efficiency of most engines resulting in CRAZY MECH DESIGNS, The scientific reason for this being "Because its Dieselpunk".

So to be short, The bandits have a good chance of having mechs or some other type of heavy hitter of yet to be introduced origin.

I'm guessing our mech is not a heavy hitter?

Against infantry? Yes it sure is, Tear through them like paper.
Against Infantry with anti-vehicular weapons? We're in trouble.
Against a serious combat mech? Trouble

The Strider is a open topped walker, Its intended for skirmishing and scouting, not for wading into deep combat.

Let loose a fearsome battle cry as we charge forth in the general direction of the bandits.
No, we are fighting agianst a large force of enemies, if we sneak up to their base we can take a lot of them out. Let's at least try to use the element of suprise, we should also ask Vasia why the giant gun excited him.
Also: do most people in this world use mechs or are we unlikely for fight off bandits with mechs?

We won't need the element of surprise, if we have the element of crazy-screaming-motherfuckers-with-a-battlemech.

For a first battle? Hell yes. We'll do a skirmishing strike since we have a scout mech, and do sweeps at the battlefield. Rushing in would be epic, but we don't have the armor for it.

Sounds good.

What about a light mech like ours, or a converted one.

Game looks good, yes.

I'm seeing 'attack the bandits', despite the fact that we don't know where the bandits are.
No.
Here's what we do.
Borrow a sheet, a few empty crates, and some rope from the villagers. Use these to disguise the Strider as a merchant's walker- slow, heavily loaded, and, of course, unarmed. Then, O and V will pose as merchants, and make their way slowly through the hills, whilst you hide in the back seat.
We lure out the bandits. Lull them into a false sense of security. Try to get them under the rear gun's firing arc.

And then we drop the sheets, revealing our guns. Even if they have a walker, the element of surprise should be enough for us to do critical damage to it before they can react.

I'm holding off on updating tonight, I'm headed to bed soon But I can answer some more questions.

Against another Strider or something similar? It would be a dance of death, Attempting to use the Strider's speed and machine guns to disable the opposing walker or even just blow the head off the pilot before he does the same.

Converted Mechs are a bit trickier depending on how it was converted and what role it is attempting to fufill.

Also make note of Otto's role. "Beast Hunter." :P

See, I can't help but feel that "Crazy screaming motherfuckers" is not a good attitude for the Tea Company. Doesn't quite jive with the whole "Tea & Poetry" thing.

Oh, no worries. That's just our strategy for this particular battle, not the general tone of our entire(three-man)organization.

The other problem is that we don't know where the bandits are hiding out. We know the general area, but unless you intend to charge around in concentric circles until we find the bandits, we will also need some manner of locating the bandits, or luring them to us.

Alright. I dont feel comfortable just rolling between the choices so a final decision for battle strategy is going to have to be made. Also I'm going to be gone for the next three days so I hope to get a decent chunk of updates in today.

Right now it's 2 to 1 to do a skirmishing run at the bandits.

I don't want to unarm our mech and cover it with a tarp because we would be assuming they aren't in their mech. If I were to hold someone up for an armored vehicle I would have the big guns ready in case they tried something. Overall I dislike that plan.
