Whoops. I'm counted it 1 for Skirmishing. 1 for Charging, And 1 for baiting.

Okay, so. We have an unknown amount of bandits, with unknown resources. Probably a dozen bandits, with deserter's gear. Probably have an operational walker, although what sort we don't know- could be a converted merchant walker, just a tub of rust with a few guns hastily soldered on, could be a heavy duty anti-walker walker.

We have a fairly significant amount of weaponry- nothing really 'heavy', but enough that we three trained warriors could possibly take on a dozen bandits alone, if we had the advantage somehow. We also have a Strider, which could easily mow through any number of bandits so long as they don't have (time to deploy) anti-walker weaponry. It would have a much harder time taking out an enemy walker, though.

We know that the bandits have their base somewhere in the hills to the north east, and attack merchants passing through this area. No doubt the bandits know the lie of the land.

Given this, we have two plans:

Plan 1: Head blindly into the hills, hoping to come across the bandits. Use skirmishing tactics with the Strider to weaken them, before charging in when they are weak to finish them off.

Plan 2: Disguise the strider as a slow moving, unarmed/armoured walker designed for transporting goods- a merchant's walker, rich picking for the bandits. We then make our way slowly along the road out of town, possibly boasting loudly about what amazing profits this cargo of tea will bring us. When the bandits attack us, we play the 'terrified merchant' card until they let their guard down, then we untie a single knot and the whole disguise falls away, revealing the strider- fore guns lined up with the enemy strider (if they have one), rear gun ready to mow down bandits. The combined fire of both fore guns should do enough damage to the enemy strider to cripple it. The element of surprise should allow us a flawless victory.

Now, Plan 1 could work. But we may get injured, or we may never find the bandits, and all in all it would involve a long hike through rough terrain followed by a messy, dangerous skirmish. I prefer Plan 2, which in my mind has a high chance of not only succeeding, but also of involving minimal injuries. Plus, the villagers might be willing to let us keep the disguise, and we could use the crates to store tea in.

If you do go for Plan 2 have the strider facing backwards. The rear gun will be in range, and it'll be easier to run away for a skirmishing attack.

You know what, you've sold me on this plan. Make that 2 for the disguise.

Very true. Also, Quick question, Are you going to do anything with Andre's (The first man you killed in this game) Sword, Pistol and armor?
Quick Updoot.

Vasia explains his expression back at the bar to you. "Werent you listening on the road Boss?! Apperently in this town there was a one armed man back in the day, He could blow out a giants eye from like...A whole league away, One shot, He was the legitimate article, The word was he was from around this region, Anyway what would a one-armed Barkeep be doing with a fine piece like that? I mean, You dont own a gun if you dont know how to use it, Right Boss?"

A crude map is found fluttering down the street, Otto takes a glance at it and informs you it is the providential map, And chances are out of date.

Begin marking out no-go zones and areas of possible pirate treasure.

"Boss, This Provience is landlocked..."

"RIVER PIRATES."

Well, if we do plan 2, we should take the road to this village here (marked in red).

Seems like that's where the bandits would loiter most often.

Plan 2 sounds like the best idea, let's do it.

 UPDATE:
(Honestly, What are you going to do with that loot)
Vasia & Otto FYI.
You tell the plan to Otto and Vasia, which is met by a pair of understanding nods, You three walk to a nearby warehouse with a rather portly manager running the operation, You explain to him that you are the mercenaries hired to deal with the bandits, He nods and offers a few crates to load the walker up with along with a few of the old white sunshades used to protect the wares during the summer time.

The Trio of Tea-Sippers move quickly, You load up the empty crates with your gear and lower the cockpit of the Strider so it appears more like a load lifter, Otto and Vasia disguise themself by throwing the white curtains around themselves as robes. Better than nothing, Vasia pilots the Strider while you hide in the rear seat as Otto plays the role of the Caravan guard. The "Caravan" marches on northward. {HIDDEN ROLL} And either by good luck or your strange gettups you find your bandits.

A loud catcall is heard, Then a rumbling of engines follows soon after, A pair of smaller vehicle sounds, Undernieth the cover you prep the rear gun, They crest the hill. A modified supply truck crests the hill, A eye had been painted onto its side and a machine gun had been mounted to each side along with a light auto-cannon stripped from a mech, grinning men man the guns along with maybe a dozen men seated on benches of the truck and a small squadron of patrol bikes flank it, maybe ten?

All right, wait for them to get in range and the have the rear gun fire at the engine. Then swing the strider around and have thefront gun and Otto fire at the bikes, hitting the truck a few times if needed.

Also we should wear the armr a but scratch our symbol onto it, carrying the sword as a back up weapon is good too.

Re: Loot. I guess beast hunters and scouts aren't trained for using armour, and Warren will be in the most vulnerable position, so, yeah, W wears the armour. The rest, distribute as appropriate to give each man maximum firepower.

Now then. About these bandits.

Back away a few paces, then stop. (The bandits will have to move closer in order to speak with us)

V & O raise their hands in surrender. W mentally prepares himself for battle, trying to line up targets so that when the shooting starts he is ready to take out as many bandits as fast as possible.

Q: These patrol bikes. They have any weaponry? If not, is it possible to ride them whilst also firing a gun?
Q: I assume the bandits are all armed. What sort of weapons are we looking at here? How much fire-power will they have, I mean. Can we expect each of them to be able to snipe our heads where as we run, or would a dozen bandits firing for a whole minute maybe hit the target once?

The patrol bikes are unarmed, It is possible to fire a pistol while riding but there would be severe penalties to firing at speed.

The bandits seem to be armed with all sorts of weapons, although you are seeing primarly pistols with a few rifles here and there. Once we get moving at a gallop with the Strider so if they are moving and we are moving just getting your face blown off is unlikely, Although if one of the bandits is armed with a rifle and manages to take his time lining up a shot, you could be in trouble
