Good tileset for a beginner?
« on: January 21, 2012, 11:33:20 am »

I know this has been asked before, and I repeat it, THOUGH I DON'T WANT THE SAME ANSWER:
"LAZY NEWB PACK"
It's even worse the original, and not Phoebus either.

EDIT: Come on....

This one's pretty easy to understand, I hear.

...

Okay, fine. If you don't like the ones in the LNP, then find one you do like. If you want a recommendation, then I'd suggest this one. I used it for a while when I first started playing. But it's mostly personal preference, really.

Also, stop whining.

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

I find I much prefer ASCII now that I'm using Vherid's tileset and colours.

1. Use pure ASCII tileset.
2. Play for several days.
3. Yay! You never need graphical tiles again!
4. ???
5. Profit!

I've just finished putting together something different than usual:
An ASCII (Herrbdog) tileset with graphical walls and creatures.
You might want to check it out (link in sig)

Yes, Mayday, while I was waiting for answers in this thread, I have come up to your amazing tileset, I have used it, and it made me stay in Dwarf Fortress, best thing first, is it is updated.
Thanks alot, Mayday, I enjoy your tileset.
