I feel ridiculous for dropping out now, but school is coming to an end. There is only one week left and then I have a lot of time while I study. I'm hoping that I can rejoin. I'll post a new character sheet in a bit.
Goblins are better.
Player name: The Fool
Character name: Panril Kriscaryn
Character age: 19
Character gender: Male
Character species: Goblin
Character description: He is lean from years of wandering without any definite source of food. His dull orange skin is rare among goblins, but he thinks nothing of it despite his love for the rare. His long crimson red hair is pulled back into a ponytail to keep it from getting in the way. The irises of his eyes are yellow, which is nothing special to a goblin, but with his red hair they stand out dramatically.
Panril dresses in bright colors regardless of his love of thievery. He thinks that the better of a thief you are the brighter the colors you can wear while still being unseen. His robes are bright red with openings that allow him to move his wings and tail freely. The robes have led to him being spotted far too many times to count. The bright robes haven't worked very often for him, but he enjoys the thought of hiding in plain sight. His own personal hand-tanned leather armor that he wears underneath the open red robe are dyed yellow to enhance the natural brightness of the leather. His soft leather shoes are rather plain, and are the only items that he wears that are brown.
Unlike other thieving goblins he keeps his nails trimmed and his appearance as clean as possible, almost to the point of obsession. Before he sleeps he always trims his nails, and bathes, even when it isn't necessary. If it weren't for the wide array of knives on his belt someone might just mistake him for a wandering merchant.
Character history: Panril was always considered a strange goblin. He was always running off on his own, and always avoiding the filthy packs that goblins traveled in. He strives to be the greatest thief alive, him and him alone.
Growing up on the road was a hard life for a goblin. The group that his parents were in were successful as raiders and had quite the foothold in Sierta for a while, but before Panril was born they were forced back into Vallia. The horde started to fall apart within years of Panril's birth and by the time he was 8 the numbers were only half as strong as they were before. He fondly remembers falling asleep in his parents arms with their long pointed nails and dirty faces surrounded by hordes of other sleeping raiders.
As soon as he could hold a knife he was taught how to fight. Nothing is as surprising as a child that is willing to kill you for most races, but for goblin raiders it was fairly standard for everyone to be able to defend themselves. Knife training wasn't as technique as it was pure manual dexterity and speed, which was useful for when they needed to use their knives to pick crude locks, but not so helpful when someone lops off one of their own fingers. Panril was lucky in that he didn't manage to cut himself growing up, and even more lucky that he was proficient in picking locks. By the age of 9 he was their own personal skeleton key. No one in Panril's raiding party matched him in his sneakiness, and the others often were the ones tipping off their would be victims. He grew to resent being their door-opener because they often were spotted long before they reached the door he had to open, so many a door got smashed instead of opened.
Panril decided to make a point one day near the borders of Sietra. He told everyone to wait for his signal instead of following him. He got some odd looks when he borrowed a bright red robe and demanded that they all wait, but they went with it. The life of the normal goblin is short, so they didn't mind losing one foolish goblin. He sneaked into the elven village up to the house that they've been eying for weeks with a single cloth bag. Everything was going well, not a single guard sounded the alarm on him, and those that did see him paid him no mind, because one goblin was hardly a raiding party. He cracked the lock within moments and walked into the house. He was lucky, no one was home, so into the cloth sack the valuables went. He walked out the door with a full bag, and by the time the guards spotted him running into the distance he was long gone. He gave the goblins the gold and gems that were in the house, but he kept a plain brass pocket watch for himself. It may not be worth anything, but it was his now, and that's all he cared about. After handing off the bag he walked off into Sietra to make a living as a wandering thief, not giving a damn about the goblins he was leaving behind. He felt that he was so much better than they were, and that it would be a waste to hang around.
He spent 10 years wandering Sietra, taking only what he needed and the odd souvenir when something seemed challenging enough to take. He had wandered into the middle of Sietra, but he had a feeling that there was something so much greater just waiting for him in the unknown. Whatever it was that was waiting for him he would steal it, even if it meant risking his life for it.
