Only two of my friends have it. So we must run in different circles.

I think the important part of that post was 1.3 million copies being sold.  That's rather a lot.

You people.

If you're this obsessed with having no pre-order bonuses, why weren't you up in arms in the XCOM thread? Or the Dishonored thread? Or any other of the dozens of games that have pre-order bonuses that no one caused a page and a half of whining over?!

You don't seem to understand. It's not about the fact that it's a pre-order bonus, it's about the fact that it's a DLC. At least, for me.
Ale production is something very dwarfy that should not be a DLC for a DF-like game, and moreover, not simplified as a f****** ALE-TREE.
In the end, it's not an adequate pre-order bonus, as it deterred me from pre-ordering the game, even if I'm considering buying this game when it'll be available.

This attitude really does confuse me.  Would you suddenly lose interest in buying a car if you found out it came with a pair of fluffy dice?

Has anyone else noticed a lot of people around here(b12) are displaying questionable logic in defense of decisions based on equally questionable rage at fairly minor elements of games?

This is not an attack on anyone or their opinion. I am just really distraught at how aggressive everyone is acting towards each other over opinions about perceived injustice. We all feel entitled at one time or another to have games cater to us and our specific desires, but let's not turn on one another.

I'm the opposite.  I really dislike preorder bonuses, but I don't really mind DLC(although I don't buy it often).  I like to play the game the way it was designed to be played, and pre-order bonuses tend to muddle that for me.  Is the game in its best state without the bonus, or with the bonus?  I can only assume its without.  Thankfully its easy for me to solve by not pre-ordering.   :P
