Randomized maps are already a bonus for replay value. The level up to one of three things may be a bit odd, but until more info is revealed I'm not going to be raging at the decision.

What do you mean by free building? Do you mean as long as you have stone blocks you can place stone walls, as opposed to spending 5 gold pieces to place a wall?

Missions could be interesting, like requests sent from 'the mountain homes' or finding an ancient temple underground to explore.

I can't tell what you are trying to say.

Are you saying that you don't like me saying I don't like something?

Are you saying you don't like that I am losing interest in this?

Are you saying you don't like that you don't understand the two above points despite the fact that I have made two posts bringing up concerns that have been in no way reassured?

More the way you said it than any of that methinks

That is correct.

This game kinda reminds me of Evil Genius.

I don't expect this game to be complex as Dwarf Fortress but I like complex games. I hope it won't be oversimplified or dumbed down.

That is correct.

Then why the
and the reasons are theirs alone.

I was talking about the lack of reasons for dissapointment. Just nevermind that :D.

Yeah, someone has been playing DF and got an idea...

Which is a good thing.  I wish a lot more developers played DF and took some ideas from it.

Looks like there will be weekly reports/dev diaries on the game or something along those lines over at the paradox forums. Also http://agameofdwarves.tumblr.com/.

*Sends 6 racks of weapons to Qufu in time for the festival for Nu Wa.*

Sorry, did somebody say something? I can't hear over the sound of building a grand palace for the Qin dynasty.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

Zeus, Caesar, and the Chinese and Egyptian adaptations of the model are all amazing. I remember how much time I spent on those gems.
