Leon shrugged, still smiling,boarded the bus, and sat in the middle, leaning his head against the glass of the window.

Leslie boarded as well, choosing the seat across from the one directly behind the driver. Her backpack contained mostly clothing and a few magazines; she didn't think she'd be able to get her customized revolver through customs, so it had to be left at home. Everybody's pretty quiet. I guess they're homesick. Getting out a reader's digest, she zipped her backpack closed and set it on her lap, but didn't open it just yet. Instead she looked around to see where the others were going to sit.

Phoenix boards, shielded from the cold by her designer winter jacket & pants, and fuzzy boots. As she stepped on board, she hoisted her rolling backpack up; one disadvantage of the rolling backpacks were carrying them up and down any forms of steps. She sat herself in the back, away from the two PALADIN recruits that had already gotten in. Not that she was avoiding them, she wouldn't mind starting a conversation with anyone who came up to her. Relaxing into her seat, she plugged in headphones into her IComp 5.5, and began drifting away to the beats of Kelly Davis.

Leopold (or Leo, Caleb, or Yevgeniy, all of which he'd prefer to be called over the stupid name his parents gave him) shuffled into the bus, and out of the cold, sitting down next to a girl who looked about two or three years his senior*, and, dropping his bag at his feet, gave her a friendly, if terse, greeting.

"Hi, how's it going?"

I had done something which I couldn't believe I had been able to do. You see, at the age of 14, I was going home from school. When I was walking back, I saw a woman getting mugged. I don't know what happened, but the muggers collapsed, bleeding out from the ears and clutching their heads. The woman went home, and I had a slight headache after that. They were arrested, but diagnosed with brain damage, I heard on the news later. To this day, I still don't know what happened.

When the crabs invaded, I was a resident doctor in the Royal Marsden in London. So, even if my psychic powers aren't needed, I can help as the doctor of the unit.

"Hey," she said, looking up from her book when a boy slid into the seat next to her. "Doing pretty good. Just curious about this Paladin program." She smiled at him. "I'm Leslie Wall." His accent was pleasant. Not quite Australian, but similar.

Seth sat in the seat in front of the talking boy and girl, reading a book. He was thinking about what this PALADIN program would have them do.

"Name's Caleb O'Donahue."
A slight amount of a blush came into his cheeks, revealing the lie.
"Oaky, it's really Leopold Higgins. Sorry, I really hate that name. Call me Caleb, please?"

"OK, Caleb," she said, waving aside the minor indiscretion. If he didn't want to be called Leopold, she wasn't going to cause him unnecessary grief over it. She put her magazine back in her backpack, deciding she'd rather talk to him for the moment. "So, these PALADIN guys. Did they contact you or did you find them?" Leslie was curious as to which it was; it would probably tell her a lot about her fellow trainee.
