For those wondering: The primary purpose of the Recorder, as a game item, was this:

Any player with the Recorder could use it immediately after they posted, and thus become immune to the Host's quote power (since the last person to post was dead, and quoting a dead person wasn't exactly useful)

And the others can still want to kill her as a precautionary defensive measure. Remember, the central component of all their wincons is to survive until the end of the game!

Basically, they have stumbled into the winning combination of roles - if they all do absolutely nothing at this point, everyone wins.

Let's see if they can pull it off.

Nope, sorry. If they'd attempted it, it would have returned a failure. That would have just been silly, after all. The Recording was primarily a defensive measure, not a get out of jail free card.

Even if it HAD worked, it would have meant you would have lost, since you would have been both the Alien, AND dead. (but it wouldn't have worked, so it didn't matter)

Note: Tolyk never actually tried.

Also Think was apparently the alien originally but not? He PM'd Glyph with a command to morph with OB, but that apparently didn't count as a stolen body for ability purposes.

No one was the alien "to start". The Host role came into effect, and was applied randomly (to Think0028) on Night One.

He then transferred it to OB, who transferred it to Tolyk.
