Traders behave odd
« on: January 17, 2012, 07:43:07 am »

traders continue to say the way your goods are i don't see you getting all those items. I was not over the weight limit i was offering a good profit of several thousand i am curious as to what is causing this. next caravan ill try trading in smaller bundles see if it fixes the problem but until then any tips or hints on trading?

(fixed) was the percentile thanks for the help

Maybe the margin was too small? A 2k profit is an excellent margin for 3k of goods, but not so much for a 50k transaction.
Or newbie trader?

the Margin seems to be the most likely answer

doing small transactions brings your trader his appraisal level up very fast. Not that there is much use to it, but it's just fun to have a +5 legendary trader

This.

Also, note that traders like a profit to their goods, in a percentile ratio.

So to be safe, give them a 40% profit, if you pick a 10,000 value item, shove them 14,000 worth in goods or cooked food. The margin lowers if they're happier and your broker has better negotiation or appraisal(?).

Are you sure you were actually looking at the item values (in ☼) and not their weights (in Γ)?

Replace broker with a dwarf with higher appraisal skill?

Also, this:
