Not without modding. the purple wouldn't stay. Or if it did, it'd be very unstable.

I've gotten decently sized nether portals to stay before using just creative and /give-ing a portal to myself.  Didn't seem to have many issues.

Well the inside is 20*30 instead of 2*3. If I scaled up the thickness the gate would take up more than 10* as much ground area and require more than 100* as much obsidian. I'm not quite dedicated enough to get over 200 stacks of obsidian.

And it may or may not have been directly next to the cow vault.

And I may or may not have been able to get any of the cows to come back.

So I've been thinking. I like vanilla mode, but it seems like a lot of minecraft and dwarf fortress players are more into mods like buildcraft. I know that I've had more fun with buildcraft than minecraft after the initial survival period. So, I'm considering a slight change. We will still have a pure minecraft server- this will be the creative mode server. We will also have a survival tekkit server.

What does the server population think?

Personally I've never played with mods, but it's no big deal to me. If we want to change the server to a modded one I'll probably still play.
