How bad is it to have circuits that are permanently changing? I made flying stone ship near spawn that uses a clock to make some mechanisms move, and I'd like to add some more for aesthetic effect, but if that puts strain on the server I can just not do it

You'd probably have to make something ridiculous for it to be a bother.

Lots of intermittently moving waterflows could actually cause ungodly amounts of lag. Lots of redstone will do the same.

The boat, and what it's doing, is nothing close to what would be needed to cause problems.  Don't worry about it.

No, it isn't - first, you must pass a gauntlet of mentally and physically arduous tests and screenings, including VO2-max testing (we can't have physically unfit players on our Minecraft server!), strength testing with the standard set of Olympic lifts using a 500lb barbell, a swimming test, timed sprints at various track lengths and a marathon. After that, you can expect background checking for familial diseases, intelligence testing, personality profiling, confirmation of mental health and, of course, a thorough colonoscopy.

Seriously, though, you're generally good to go as long as you're not a complete stranger and not a flaming asshole/idiot in your posting history. You've been added.
