Also, why would it be bad for a vig to kill a claimed (non-confirmed) martyr/potential fakeclaiming scum?  I want more of an answer than "THIRD PARTY WIN", because third party wins of the jester/martyr sort don't tend to harm the town.

It wastes a night action that could've been used to get rid of scummy, distracting town or actual scum.

I'm a crappy doc/cop.

I was roleblocked and misdirected last night. I had tried to save Web because I thought he'd be targeted by scum.

I ended up being roleblocked trying to save Toaster.

I thought everyone was roleclaiming. So I went first.

My powers.

I have three night powers.

One is a doctor attempt. The effectiveness of the skill is random
One is a cop attempt. The result and success is random
I have a one shot random kill that may or may not work.

So my only real move is to be a doctor, as my cop skill is too unreliable.

I targeted WUBA because he seems to always get killed by scum early unless he is scum.

It wouldn't, unless he blocks them from winning(I can never tell which third party blocks what wincons).  As you said, it wastes a kill. Neither side should have killed him.

Should've been a bit more specific. I sort of blend games together. I can't tell if this one is the one where I'm supposed to be angry at you, or the one where you're actually dead and I don't care about you.

That time it was a joke. Not so much arrogant, but still a little.
