What I want to know is, why are other countries playing along? The arrest was made in New Zealand, wasn't it? Why are NZ police arresting somebody on NZ soil, for US legislation?
As much as some people might like to think otherwise, the US is not the world police, the leader of the US is not the leader of the free world, and US legislation does not count outside it's borders.

This is a serious question for me as well. The US always gets its way in the med term, but should it not be significantly delayed in these proceedings? How is it we are getting news of people getting arrested, and not news of the US trying to arrest people?

Same here. The US is overstepping it's boundaries, arresting people on a whim with the other countries making nary a tweet about it. It is as if the US owns all of the free world. This is unacceptable for me.

Because the NZ court system was convinced that the allegations against said offenders was legitimate enough for an arrest and extradition proceedings to be made. That kind of thing happens all the time. The crime took place in the USA, at least partly, as there were servers based in the USA.

Did you read the indictment i posted on the previous page? These guys were not arrested on a whim.
