I CAN NOW POWER THE GLAIVE BEAM

A STORE IS TEMPTING ME WITH A VULCAN, BUT IT ALSO HAS CLOAKING, I ONLY HAVE SCRAP FOR ONE

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Another attempt, this time they were clearly killed by their own crew while mind controlled. They were cloned without incident. =)

Personally I would take the Vulcan (and sell the glaive) because I love the vulcan so much.
There are a few reasons for this:
The glaive on its own isn't nearly enough to kill shield 4 ships, while the Vulcan is. You really need some major weapons to do full glaive damage against a sheilded ship (eg. double burst lasers/flaks/bombs).
Once the Vulcan charges up they are dead 100% very quickly. The same isn't true for the glaive, which by endgame usually takes multiple shots to fully take them down (during which time they can still do significant damage to you).
You can find another cloak at a later store, but you almost certainly won't find another vulcan this game.

I have yet to win a game with the Vulcan. Either I miss to many shots, or the enemy always has a way to knock out my weapons, or I get it when I'm already stuck in a downward spiral.

Weapons pre-igniter is the most useful thing for it.

Gets rid of the first 11 seconds.
Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever had a win with a pre-ignitor either.

GREAT JUSTICE SCREENSHOTS

GLORIOUS FREEDOM ALLIANCE OF VULCAN AND GLAIVE CRUSH PUNY REBEL FLAGSHIP LIKE BUTTER

Spoiler: FOR GREAT JUSTICE (click to show/hide)

(Tbh I should have kept the burst lasers, Glaive isn't that good against the flagship when you need to disable certain systems (missiles and drones, mainly. Vulcan can only pound one system into the ground at a time.) really quickly. Glaive really shines against normal grunts, though.)

Where do you guys get all these awesome weapons from?

I can't get squat that would actually be useful and yes, I do a lot of exploring and go to all of the shops.
