I am raging so hard right now.

In a single playthrough, I find not one, but TWO damaged stasis pods. AFTER the Rock Homeworlds. And I just hit the final sector without a single research station. Plus my boarders keep dying.

On the bright side, Rock Layout C get! And somehow I have both the Engi Medi-bots as well as the Zoltan Supershield. Still probably not a game-winning run though.

Now you have the Rock C you don't have to worry about the crystal quest anymore, at least.

Yeah, now the crystal cruiser unlock is literally "keep crystalman alive / clonebay powered, find unlabeled beacon in Rock Homeworlds, activate it" and not three piles of RNG BS.

Do people mind me announcing my FTL streams in here? If they do, I'll stop.

But for now, I'm streaming.

I totally won. No cloak, no drones, no hacking. Though the fact that I once again got dual-Flak IIs helped quite a bit.

I've decided that the combination of hack + cloak on the flagship is too much.  Its WAY too important which room the boss decides to hack, and with some Last Stand layouts you only get one (or no) chances to "reroll", which could result in two unacceptable hacks in a row.  Hacking the oxygen sucks but you can counter it for 25 scrap so whatever.  Hacking the shields however is brutal as the 3rd level hack will completely kill your shields, and hacking the weapons makes the flagship almost unkillable if you rely on high charge time weapons (as it will alternate between 3rd level hack and 3rd level cloak).

It isn't even close to ruining the game for me, since 9 times out of 10 the boss does some derpy hack that does nothing, or I just leave and come back.  But it can result in some pretty unfair situations.

As a side note, hacking the helm or engines SHOULD be brutal, but in my experience the boss is so dumb about the timing that it typically results in only a few extra hits.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Also I know it is game balance and all

But does anyone but me find it REALLY weird that when you mind hack the only person remaining on a ship... that the ship... still acts as if it had a competent crew?

To be fair, if you only have one crew member and he gets mind-controlled, your ship still functions as well.

Just had the most lucky boss fight I have ever had.
I went in with a pretty great setup in both weapons (triple flak 1, basic laser) and defense (cloak 3, 55% regular dodge, 4 strength shield, defense drone 1 and 2, maxed doors).
I knew I was going to win going in, but in all three of the boss fights, I didn't take a single point of hull damage. Not a single point.

I didn't even take out any of their weapon rooms at any point in the fight.
Every single missile either got shot down, missed, or hit my defense drones (which got shot down like 5 times).

Nothing else got through my shield to hurt me. Drone swarm? Dodged with cloaking. Super charge attack? The one they managed to get off simply missed 3/4 of its shots. Everything else? Just hit my shield (and defense drones) one at a time or missed.

It is kind of a pity that I didn't get this this crazy luck when I actually needed it.

I was honestly wondering why you took so much damage Glyph Gryph but then I saw that you had the particular bad luck of it targeting your weapon's system for your missiles.

Mostly because I wasn't really trying very hard, especially in Phase 1, and I paid for it. Also, yeah, stupid hacking drone! :shakes fist:

Finally I beat the flagship on Easy. Used bulwark with hack, mind control and teleporter. Weapons were Glaive beam, Breach bomb II, chain ion and chain laser. The last section was pretty annoying since theres both a super shield and multi laser that are not targetable, Also Noticed that its a good idea to leave 2 enemy crew alive because the AI is much harder to beat since it can repair the turrets

Just kill everyone except the guy manning the triple lasers.
