It could be, but I dun know about that. The cool down levels (for use or recharge) of the cloak are pretty well match with weapon cool down timers.

Surely it makes sense to be able to man the drone, cloaking and medical bay though. The teleporting room might need to be edited so there's a spot for the crew member to stand and not be teleported which could be effort. Doors and scanners are an automated process so they shouldn't really need to be manned.

Urgh. Zoltan ship. So terrible.

I don't know why I wanted to ever unlock this thing. Just lost ANOTHER ship to missiles, because woooh, zoltan die in one hit (or from the fire before they can leave the room, or the followup laser) from missiles! Stupid worthless bloody... And it just seems so incredibly terribly underpowered. Bluh.

For now, poor Chief O'Brien is out of work.   :'(

So I've been playing this for a little while, but what exactly am I supposed to do with the "Damaged Stasis Pod"?
Anyone know? Or does anyone at least have a vague idea of what I can do with it?

Zoltan research event can study things other than your crew, if you have something to study. Try rooting around for one of those.

Oh man, I didn't even think of that. I actually think I'm going to the Zoltan homeworlds next sector.
Thank you kindly, good sir.

I withdrew my criticism of the Zoltan ship. It may start out weak, but if you can grab a decent weapon and a cloak... mwahaha. Makes an awesome strike ship.

I've never had problems with missiles on that ship before that others didn't share. In fact, the shields should protect you fully from missiles in the start. By the time the shields go down, your enemy's weapons should be disabled if you're targeting correctly.

Targeting with /what/? You can't even use both your weapons, the beam has a huge recharge and can only do 2 damage. And the reason it's not as much a problem on other ships is due to the fact that non-zoltans can actually /survive/ a hit from a missile. >_<

I've actually found ignoring shields completely, upgrading engines, and grabbing a cloak asap to be great defensively. And getting a weapon that doesn't suck is a priority.

Crap. I lost zoltan #4 at exactly the same time that I was able to afford the 25th reactor upgrade.

Unlocked the slug ship at least, now all I got to do in get the crystal ship.

Getting Plan B for the Zoltan ship is easy. I just raced to Sector 5 then reset....

Targeting with /what/? You can't even use both your weapons,
Not at the start, but at the start you aren't in a whole lot of danger.

and can only do 2 damage.
Per section. You can cripple many systems at the same time with that thing. And it also penetrates level 1 shields, to do 1 damage each section. Even if you don't target systems, the sheer amount of damage it can cause can kill quickly.

In some ships, you can hit up to 4 or 5 sections with one beam burst. Assuming 2 damage each, that's 8-10 damage. Even with 1 damage, that's 4-5.

And the reason it's not as much a problem on other ships is due to the fact that non-zoltans can actually /survive/ a hit from a missile. >_<
Like I said, I've never had a problem with missiles in the way you've described. I do not recall my Zoltans ever getting 1-hit KO'd.
