Woot, third win.  This time with the Kestral layout 2.  I learned that you can visit repair locations in sector 8 multiple times.  :D

I was so happy I finally got to the boss, and got to his second form. It was so intense.

And then you say this, and I realize there's no reason whatsoever I couldn't have beaten him. Durrr.

5burst lasers really only have one thing going for them.

They work with the preigniter, heheh.

That is all.

Yes, the Artillery beam sort of makes it easy. I shall now go and try to unlock the alternative Stealth ship.

Annoying fact #45: If you accept a surrender request from an enemy ship, it screws up the "help us" system requests.  So, no talking to civies and getting free stuff if you accept a surrender from the attacker.

My runs with the Stealth Cruiser have so far followed the following pattern:

Look for Shields --> Don't find any --> Encounter enemy with beam drones --> Die

Is the cooldown for cloaking any faster with higher levels? Because if I encounter any enemies with anti ship or beam drones, I'm pretty screwed regardless of how long the cloaking is if they can still pick me apart and shut down all my systems when I'm not cloaked.

I'm pretty surprised at how this game has exploded since being released on the 14th. I'm on my second run that made it to the Rebel Flagship, and I just got to the Flagship's second form. I'm using the default ship with maxed shields and weapon systems. I'm using the default missile launcher, burst lasers 2 and 3, and a hull beam.

I'm worried about the robot boarders.

The idea is to disable their most threatening systems by the time you're vulnerable. And no, I don't think the cooldown gets any quicker. The stealth ship is a challenging setup.

Although personally I always found shields in shops. Like, every shop that offers systems has shields for sale. My problem was getting enough scrap to buy and power them before it was too late.

Cooldown is quite faster with more levels.

WTF moment: Scientist ask for my help because a fire on their station is raging out of control.  I dock in order to pick up survivors: Rockman joins crew!

To expain the joke: Rockmen are impervious to flames.
