I won using a helluvalot of drones, now I'm trying out the stealth cruiser.

The boarding drone is lot of fun, and when you get a ship intact you gain much more scrap it seems.

Also, ions on weapons and o2 is brutal.

You do, and you can also get special results - the big one I've noticed is that if you capture a slaver ship, you're pretty much assured a new crew member - sometimes of a race of your choosing.

You mean, on top of scrap and other stuff? Normally I just accept their surrender and get some random crewman. Race of choosing seems pretty good.



Also, has anyone noticed whether different people (even the same race) level up faster on different skills? It seems like I've had guys level up REAL fast and others that take forever. Should I be switching them around and see if they learn some other skill faster?

It depends on the subsystem they are assigned to.
Each time a weapon fires the weapons dude gets +1 exp (so if you are firing off bunches of ion weapons he will level up super fast).
I am less clear on the others, but I think every time the shield blocks a shot he gets a xp.
I think every time the ship dodges a shot the pilot and the engine man get xp (it might just be complete shots, or it might be every few shots)
Every time a complete subsystem is repaired (i think) repair gets a point.
Every time a someone kills an enemy they get a point in boarding experience.

I alwaus wanted to left them into an asteroid field to see if I can cheat a shield expert :p

GOG seems to have the best deal. DRM free + bonus stuff. If you buy on their website you get DRM free and Steam key, but no word on bonus things.

He said it was for kickstarter backers, not people online at a certain time. So its for people who gave them money before even pre-orders were possible and helped them develop/finish the game.

I'm under the impression it's going to be available for £6.99 on Steam or $10 directly from the FTL site. I also read they're doing 10% off too :D

I'll go with whichever is cheapest as the FTL site gives a Steam key anyway
