I now have the Stealth A. I have just jumped to my first target and it looks like the game is already over....

If it doesn't hit your pilot with the next shot you can probably run away.

All stealth runs require some luck in the first one or two sectors.
That said, Stealth is at least enjoyable after that, unlike the Zoltan A.

Also Noticed that its a good idea to leave 2 enemy crew alive because the AI is much harder to beat since it can repair the turrets
If you have breach missiles/bombs, you can get around that because the AI can't fix breaches, nor can it repair systems in a breached room.

Not... particularly, to be honest. I mean, avoiding beam drones during the first few jumps, sure. But by halfway through sector one, at least with the Stealth B, you should definitely be on top of the RNG and it is basically your game to screw up.

The important thing to keep in mind for all the stealth ships is that it's vitally important to upgrade your cloaking, you engine until you're cloak is actually reliably effective, and then get a bit of weapon protection to minimize the effect of a random lucky shot.

I've gotten to the point where I honestly don't even bother aiming for shields until later on any more - doing that is gambling, but playing to the Stealth Ships actual strengths is a lot less so.

Next thing you know, you're going to beat the flagship 5 times in a row on hard mode.

I found the stealth ship actually works better for me if you treat it like a stealth ship... avoid confrontations using the long-ranged scanners and use as many non-combat events as you can for materials til you get some actual worthy combat upgrades. If you get the advanced FTL navigation augment you can even pick and choose everything advantageous to you in most sectors by scouting through first, then jumping back and doing a second pass just ahead of the fleet to pick up the other good encounters.

And then, they will be weaponized. Like everything in this game, from kittens to babies, everything is a potential device of murder.
So if baseless speculation is all we have, we might as well treat it like fact.

Stealth B also takes a hit from early mini-beams, which is a bit of a problem because they are super common.

My unlock runs are going well. Just the Slug Cruiser and Crystal cruiser to go! (Well, and a bunch of B and C unlocks, but whatever) Which probably means I need to get the Rock C once I get the Slug.

Then I can get back to playing on Normal.

Quick question: Do Engi Medibots work on crew teleported off ship? I'm guessing not, but its too hilariously gamebreaking of a possibility to pass up on.

Never seen them working on an enemy ship. Mantis Pheromones still seem to work on enemy ships though.

Well then.

Thing is, this was my first time playing Engi Cruiser in forever, and I only did so after seeing a picture of a failed cruiser on the subreddit.

I was not expecting this at all.

Every dwarf, every dwarven man, women, and child, that comes to our forts will die there; it's truly sad when you think about it. And we ask our selves, why? Why do we push forward, knowing this fate, that we are destined for failure? Because, this game grasps the concept of mortality. Some games you can never lose, but we all stop eventually, causing a 'death' to those game's 'worlds'. Dwarf Fortress gives us a definite end, knowing that we will leave that world eventually, and move on to more.
