I need to stop playing when tired. Crew members keep disappearing and I don't know what from. What happened to my slug and rockman? :/

And I think one of my engi disappeared too.

This happens to me a lot  ;)  I'm pretty sure I've lost at least three victorious teams by forgetting to pick them up before leaving.  I woke up one morning dead in an asteroid field.

Probably because I don't install games on my laptop (owned by work) and FTL doesn't require install...

I just discovered that fire bombs aren't just fun, they're super useful!  Particularly against the boss.
I got all 4 boarders killed on the first form due to mistakes (and really deviously timed cloaking on their part).  I had about 8 missiles, a fire bomb, small bomb, halberd beam (or the one that does 2 dam) and small laser.  I had managed to kill all but one of the crew, though.  I made it through all three forms by lighting fires and cloaking :D  And by sending 2 of my 3 remaining crewmen (a zoltan and an ENGI) to disable the triple missile launcher).

Once the fires overwhelmed their shields, my beam tore them to pieces (:  It's like someone said, bombs are great against the boss.

Would you believe that the Orange Juice missed out on TWO chances to unlock new ships during it's unlucky run?

It found the start of the Engi Homeworld quest, but couldn't start it because no Engi crew.
It also found that Mantis pirate with the long and unpronounceable name, but I couldn't remember how that one was supposed to work. I never saw any blue text options and I had no boarding party or ion weapons, so I was forced to blow them out of the sky.

You need a mantis crewmember for the second one I think.

Well, since I stupidly lost my dual-Mantis boarding part earlier, I was kinda out of them :P

I got him without a mantis dude, I think. You just need to kill the occupants without destroying the ship, find him injured, teleport him back and treat him, no?

I have no idea, but I didn't have any of those options anyway. All I had were laser beams. guns.

ETA: Why'd I say beams? :|

You just said you had a teleporter. Use your other dudes.

And yeah the whole lasers/beams thing is DUMB STUPID DUMB.

It's plasma and laser beams. That's it.

Teleporter with two humans and one Zolton. That was it.

Humans are perfectly capable of handling the task as long as you are patient and careful.

I thought you had to have a little back and forth between him and your mantis crew member?

Those humans and Zolton weren't my boarding party, they were the ENTIRE CREW. My pilot, my shield operator, and my weapon guy. If I had warped them over, my ship would have been obliterated.

You need a teleporter and a level two medbay. Having a mantis gives a blue option, but isn't necessary.

Well leave the Zoltan to pilot, obviously. And wreck some shit before teleporting people over. Laser weapons are perfectly capable of softening up a target before you head over and board - once their weapons are disabled, there's no real reason to leave anyone on the ship.

And yeah, not surprised by the level 2 medbay, just probably didn't register with me because I always have one - so many uses. :P
