Just posting to watch, but I remember when I found this before I saw this post, and thought that the demo was more than just that ONE site... Anyway. I DID want this and search for it for about 4 years, and SS13 worked for a bit, but this looks better :D

looks like a pretty sweet SunDog clone.  Pick up an Atari ST emulator sometime and see what the original was about.

Kerberos (the Sword of the Stars guys) were going to make one called "North Star" with higher production values, but I dont think it ever went anywhere.

I'll buy this FTL thing (cleverly named, as FTL was the name of the game studio that actually made SunDog) if it looks like a whole game when it finally comes out.  I guess I'm just not a fan of the kickstarter hype-machine.

Yeah, it got moved to the backburner in favor of SotSII, but after what happened with that I doubt we will see within at least 3 years.. which is a shame really.

I got my key a few days ago, I believe many others have had theirs for a bit longer,  its fun, but im really hoping for a sandbox/explorer mode, the current game mode pushes you through the galaxies to the final fight and you dont really get time to dither about poking at stuff.  Ive also found winning to be fairly dependent on the RNG.  Ive gotten to the last galaxy and been fairly underpowered in terms of pickups.  But yeah, im having fun with it.

access was granted to the beta purchasers since back in late july. The game is almost roguelike and at times can screw you very hard but i like it. The variety of aliens is meh-ish but their perks are nice though it feels like a coffeebreak game.
