I didn't think it was 1814, I just thought that, well, the British and the French quite enjoyed fighting each other, so why not. Tell an Englishman* you've just been fighting the French and he will probably think highly of you. I thought it was the most plausible and most convincing story at the time. Anyway, I think Big Ben dates from 1869.

*A 19th century Englishman, of course.

Tomato, we can go wherever, I wasn't totally going to try and either seduce/smash over the head the driver once we got down a quiet back alley.
I'll just set the time somewhere unspecified between 1800-1900, so you can go whereever you like.

Ok, well, let's go ride wherever you want Tomato. I've kind of forgotten what I wanted at the Crystal Palace, so if you have a better plan...

"Well...this is quite the predicament." He dropped his Blunderbuss, vowing to use it later on and Dived into cover.

"I hope they don't hit our Time Machine!" he yelled to the rest while turning to Rhys, "You are wounded and we'll be in bigger trouble if we alert the whole place like this. I'm not one to disengage from a battle, but we might get our only chance out of here damaged in the process!"

Pick up that Rocket Launcher, load it and aim, but not firing until anyone else does.

"Prototype weaponry, if only I had taken Science classes earlier..."

((Suggestion, spoiler the general list of items in every update  :) ))

I just realised something, Ebbor...

-Replacement parts for the time machine:(Mainly electronical circuits(since none of you know how it works)

Shouldn't I know how it works, considering I was the head of research? That would place me in a position of having my fingers in every pi- I mean project that was going on at the time... Right? And as a scientist, I would of course want to know how things worked.

What more do you need?

Well, while you certainly now  how the control circuits work, and gave some vague notions of the underlying principles that it works with, you have no idea what piece of machinery did what. The timemachine wasn't build in the lab( btw, timemachine are impossible and can not excist) it just simply appeared, about a month ago.

((Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing what our story is.))

"I don't think the negotiations are going well. I'll try to calm things down, please try to stop convincing the locals that we're a hostile invasion force."

Take a set of anti-viral/anti-bacterial omnicures, as they may be needed for demonstration purposes. Try to convince the airships not to destroy or board the time machine (Our machines seems to have backfired slightly, and left us very disoriented. Please give me time to calm my companions down).

I have no plan. It's just that islington is mentioned in numerous Douglas Adams Novels, and I have no idea where else to go, assuming that Harrid's didn't exist then. We might as well go on a sight-seeing tour of london for all I care, we just need to get away. It doesn't help when you're affiliated with a group of terrorists who suddenly turn up out of nowhere. Even though the term terrorist was probably coined a lot later than this point in time.

The use of the word terrorism in this sense came about in the same year as Big Ben, according to my rushed research, and dates itself in a more general sense from the French Revolution. But anyway...

Why don't we go to the Science Museum to find some useful artefacts? I agree that getting away is a good plan. Not sure what's in Islington in the 19th century. Fairly well-off types?

Remember that this is Victorian Age steampunk London, so you can to places that don't excisted here.
Like the London Airship Airport, or whatever you want to call it.

If you go somewhere, please give me a description, because I don't know so much about London.

Ok, the science museum it is. Presumably we're going to have to 'borrow' some cash from the coach driver so we can get in.

I'd have thought that with the Victorian enthusiasm for education and desire to elevate the masses the museum would have free entry.

What better way to keep the chimney sweeps and beggars out of a respectable place of learning? You have your answer.
