Mehmed waits until morning before moving out to sell his stock.

He spends the day speaking with the managers at different wool factories, selling his wool to them direct for more than what he could get at the trade house and for cheaper than what they would have to pay. Once sold he would purchase 20 crates of linen cloth, 10 crates of woolen cloth, and 7 crates of glass eggs. He's keeping the armour on ship for the time being.

And as always looking for a better sail.

Alexandre smiled. The beeswax would definitely give him a profit, as would the parchment, olives, and olive oil. The marbles price, however, was a bit... well, not so preferred. Alexandre decided he would sell off all of his beeswax and parchment. His marble he would most certainly hold on to, as well as his stores of olives and olive oil. While the olives did give him a profit, it was a small one. Alexandre then decided to discover all that he could buy in Venicia, then travel to... what was it again? Ah, Naples! That area was famous for it's architecture, which used marble often. Perhaps his olives and olive oil would get a better price there, too. Once Alexandre sells his parchment and beeswax, and discovered what was to be bought in Venicia, he will travel to Naples, and find out what he can buy there.

Alexandre also reminded himself to note the Beeswax Trade between Athens and Venicia. The profit seemed quite... to put it simply, profitable. It was likely he would travel that same route again in the future, barring drastic price fluctuations.

Now, with the debts payed, Juan decides to pay an extra 50 ducat per sailor on his ship. For he keeps his promises.

Now, with what he has remaining, he decides to buy Almonds, and it's pressed counterpart Almond Oil. Preferring Almond Oil over the Almonds. Then, ordering the Helmsman and Navigator to chart the route to Sevilla.

The collective gross income from the brandy and oil was 21357. Chico gained a level in Merchant.

Six pots of ambergris were bought for 18750 D. He also bought 26 crates of onions for 1950 ducats. He then packed up and set sail for Sevilla. He got there in a day.

Currently, onions sold for 79 per crate. Sugar cane sold for 203 ducats per crate: the price had fallen. Coconuts also fell, selling for 231 per crate. Ambergris sold for 3528 per pot.

The accountant that was part of his crew suggested he sell the coconuts and sugar cane far away, such as Europe, instead of near the Gibralter Strait.

With much convincing and haggling, he managed to sell his stock of wool for 10% better than the trading post price. It did take most of the day. It might be beneficial to hire a haggler to help with selling goods directly. He earned 14020 ducats and gained a level in Merchant.

20 crates of linen was bought for 7260 D, ten of woolen cloth for 10550, and five boxes of glass eggs. He had 783 left. He then set sail to Lisbon. It took 10 days of sailing, especially due to adverse winds in the Channel. He was now 717 ducats in debt, for sailor's wages.

The Chinese junks stayed in harbor for the whole day.
However, he intercepted a tiny, undermanned, underarmed vasa's crew. He gained 5 crates of firelocks and 330 ducats. Should he (1) let them go, (2) steal the boat, or (3) kill everyone, THEN steal the boat?

The beeswax was worth 14960, and the parchment 13370. Alexandre gained a level in Merchant.

He then sails to Naples. It took 6 days.

Juan sold the boxes of satin he had for a grand total of 59007 ducats. He gained two levels in Merchant. He then also paid 50 extra for each sailor, as compensation for lack of pay. He now had 48824 ducats.

He then bought 38 almonds and 15 almond oil for 5358, 7680 respectively.

He ordered his crew to Sevilla. It took 1 day and 150 ducats to get there.

Wow, I completely missed this starting!

Willem van Groen pored over his ledger- odd, since it was blank.  A fresh canvas, on which to make his fortune.  What possibilities awaited him in the ports of Europe and the high seas?  What great adventures awaited him?

What to buy first?

Wasting no time, he left his modest house and headed to the ports.  The merchants would already be working, but still there would be time to catch good deals, get his ship loaded, and catch a favorable tide.  He hoped for a good weapons shipment- war may be a terrible thing, but it is profitable.

He is disappointed with the available wares, but he wastes no time worrying.  Gijon is his next destination- the city is in the iron-rich Asturias region of Spain- there should be well-made weaponry there.


Buy all available gin, ham, and glass eggs.  Load up and head to Gijon!

Find the merchants here, if the selling price is at least 10% higher than the buying price (back in Lisbon), then sell all my goods off and replace with Quicksilver Ointment, buy it all.

"My good men, look at this!" Juan says as he points to a stack of crates marked 'Drugs', "Quicksilver Ointment! The first time I've laid my eyes on the thing, does wonders for the body!"

He also noted some cannons on sale, lower than the general market price and took it in mind.

If he had any extra ducats in change, he then decides to fill up his Caravel with as much cannons as it can hold (and use).

"Strange, Cannons without and powder or ammunition...I guess I'll find some in our next destination."

"To Faro, helmsman!" he says, after all deals are finished.

"I believe it is time to change my strategy. Long single hauls are not going to win me my fortune. I shall have to leap frog with my wares if I want the best prices possible."

"Men. Get the ship unloaded but leave the glass eggs in the hold, we're selling the rest. Be ready to leave for Barcelona upon my return! My instincts tell me the brass smiths and smelters are in need of ore."

Selling armour, linen, and wool. Searching for any dyes particular to the region and buying some if possible, then buying as much coper ore as possible. Haggling as much as possible when both selling and buying. (should it all go to crap, keep at least 10k in cash after buying)

Once back on the ocean Mehmed invites a few of the men to dine with him each night to learn something of each of them and see if any are being under-utilized. Also a good way to instill loyalty.

It took 6 days and 1500 in wages to get there.

Glass eggs' prices were the same and sold for 1044. Ham sold for 408, while gin sold for 388, its price having fallen by 16% the past week.

The market price was the price. He did not sell anything.

Juan then bought all the ointment on the market. 35275 was doled out for 25 boxes of quicksilver ointment. He had 361 ducats left.

The cannons sold as goods were NOT ship cannons, and Juan didn't have money anyway. He skipped buying the cannons.

He sailed into Faro a day later.

The sales gave Mehmed a level in Merchant. He sold for 38982 ducats.
He then asked around for any regional dyes, but he was repeatedly told, "What is made here is sold there (points to trades post)."

He bought 25 loads of copper for 19750 ducats. He then set sail to Barcelona.

On the way there, he made sure to 'fraternize' with his men. He learned that his accountant also knew how to trade preference goods, and had 3 ranks in that skill.

On the 7 days to get there, he spent 1050 ducats in pay.

On arrival, he was greeted with the sad news that glass eggs' price had fell to 1109 per box. On the bright side, copper ore could be sold at 929 per box.
